Late checkout??

Hi - I know this has been said before but I can't remember what the answer was??

If you request a late checkout at either portofino or hard rock - what time will you have to check out?

Plus am I right in thinking that you have to phone first thing in the morning on departure day at something like 6am to make the request??

call in the morning you have to check out.
ask if you can have late check out.

it depends if the hotel is going to be at full/ or close to / occupancy that day if your request will be honored. if they need rooms for your check out day, the cleaning staff will have to start to work on the rooms as soon as people leave.


if you have a loews platinum card, it is guaranteed. wait. the loews first will be enhanced as of the 15th this month to loews you.
unknown if the loews amenity will hold then.


you can always check out and store your luggage with the valet.
no charge.

go to the parks, or go swim until you are ready to leave for home or your destination.

you can use the pool rooms to tidy up, change, etc.
they provide soap and towels even if you have already checked out.

all free

it depends on the hotel, if you have the loews card (almost past program now) and if the room you are in has been blocked off for someone that day.

the latest check out is the american express platinum which is 4 pm.
platinum for loews is 2 pm check out which is what i always do.
blue and gold loews or ap can be anywhere from 12 to 1:00 .


regular check out is 11:00.
check the night before you check out if the room is to be assigned the next day. the front desk can tell you.
you will have to call in the morning (7ish) to see what late check out time they will give you. the earlier you call, the better the chance of getting an extended check out time. if you are there in low season, it would be easy to get a 2 hour extra check out time.

they have been having a contest at hrh. there were doing it recently and always do it during october as hhn keeps the weekend dates booked up.
the earlier you check out the more tickets you can put in for a contest.
if you check out at 8 in the morning, you get 3 tickets. at 9, 2 tickets, 10, 1 ticket.

they draw each week and the ticket that is picked gets free night stay at hrh. when the hotel is at full occupancy, or near it, they try to get guests to check out early so they can start with housekeeping clean up.

i don't participate in the early check out contest.
i do the park when it opens, return to the room around 1:45 to check out and store my stuff with valet and then return to the park for late lunch and do the rides. return to the hotel early evening to wait for my car service then.

it the hotel is doing the promo of getting tickets for the contest based on what time you check out before required time, that will mean the hotel is expecting near capacity occupancy.

with that in mind, hope for an hour extension for check out.

the loews youfirst now shows for card members a 3 hour late check out is allowed only if available.



which means what i said before.
if they are not at full occupancy the day you want late check out, better chances of getting what you want.


one tip: the earlier you call in the morning better your chances of late check out.

housekeepers are assigned by floor.
if 20 people on the same floor call for late check out, you know they all won't get it.
the first ones that call it will get that mummy dust.
call early and beg, whine, cry...........but do it nicely...
