When is the best time to request late check out at a deluxe Villa? Have you ever had the request honored without an additional charge? I would need a noon or 1:00 check out at Bay Lake.

We request and 99.9% of the time receive a late checkout several times a yr. It used to be 1pm, but has been 12:30 for a number of yrs now. Having said that; we do not stay at DVC villa often. - Last time we did was in 2020 at Poly and we absolutely got a late checkout, however those were weird times and a number of yrs. ago now.

I'm almost certain we received a late checkout at BLTs, however that was over a decade ago, so rules certainly could've changed since then.

DVC villa resorts do not offer late check out.
Officially they don't have a policy. You can always request a late departure by contacting the Front Desk of your DVC resort very early on the day of your check-out. They will check availability (new Guests for your room type), and let you know if anything is possible.

I would need a noon or 1:00 check out at Bay Lake.
You might be lucky enough to get 11:30 or 12 Noon but due the cleaning schedule for DVC units even that will be random or a hard no.

Doubt there is a 'best' time to request this. If you let the front desk know they can likely tell you if the room is already scheduled for the next party. Your chance for late check-out is better if the room doesn't already have someone scheduled after you. Housekeeping needs time to turnover the room before the next party arrives.

We travel to WDW multiple times a year, toggling back and forth between resort stays and DVC villa stays. I have stayed on WDW property at least 100 times. My late checkout requests have always been approved on the resort side. On the DVC side, I have always been told no late checkout at DVC resorts. Whether that's "official" or not, that has always been the response and I have asked many, many times.

OP, YMMV, but I think odds are you won't get late checkout. Please let us know the response as it's great info for everyone!

The one and only time we received a 1:00 late checkout time was at OKW way back in our first year of DVC ownership (1992). As I recall the resort was not yet completed yet.

if you’re running a little behind on packing on check-out day, and the maid knocks on your door, in my experience if you apologize for being slow and give her a VERY generous tip, you’ll be fine.
