Late check-out?

Is there any such thing as "late check-out" for DVC resorts? We drive from NJ and we like to leave at 6 pm and drive thru the night to avoid traffic/let kids sleep/etc. DH would like to sleep for a few hours in the afternoon before driving - last trip we were w/my parents who were staying a few extra days and he snoozed in their room. But next trip is just us so I've been thinking about how to do this. I did consider just getting a room (or studio) for that last day but I think any last minute room changes will be too inconvenient. I think the WDW resorts offer a late check-out option for a fee -- what about DVC?

DVC has a specific and stated policy of no late checkouts.

DVC resorts usually take more time to clean for the next guest, so they need all the time they can get. Your husband could find a spot by the quiet pool to take a nap if he wanted to.

If you feel you MUST have that extra full afternoon, perhaps you can change your reservation to add a day if there is availability. Since check IN time is 4, and you don't want to leave until 6, there would be no one left to clean that villa, since I believe the housekeeping crews have left by then. It might be worth the extra points to you though if you feel you must have those extra 7 hours.
