Late check out success?

Has anybody had success securing late check out at Art of Animation? Looking into options for departure day as we have a later flight and small kids we don't necessarily want to take out and about.

We have not stayed at AOA, but we had very good success of getting a noon and sometimes 1pm(latest) checkout time. Our trip last month to GF we were able to get a 1pm check-out, which was a nice surprise. It really comes down to the capacity level of the resort, if they are totally booked up, then the chances are small.

That's good news! Just curious...Did you request the late check-out upon arrival or beforehand? I've read that you have to make the request at the front desk.

How do you go about requesting a late check out time? I already completed the online check in form and put normal check out time on it, but now we're looking at maybe an extra hour or two.

I believe there is an option on the online check-in, I also mention it when we actually check-in. In the past I was always told to call mousekeeping the morning of check-out, but the last 2 trips, I was able to do it at the lobby check-in desk with the CM, which was nice.

If you need late check out the best thing to do is to go to the front desk and request it. The earlier into your trip you ask the more likely you are to get it. If you ask super early it is more likely you will get it because Housekeeping can rearrange the order they clean rooms in to make sure you are last on the list. If you wait until day of it will be up to housekeeping. I've had luck at the deluxes to get a 1pm and at moderate and value 12.

We have always asked a CM at the front desk the night before check out. Except at villa resorts (where there is no late check out), we always got our request

I once asked for a 1pm checkout at Pop at about 7am the morning we were to checkout, and happily they said yes.

We asked for 2 hours at POR and got one in Oct.

Not AoA but we asked for a late check out the Saturday before Thanksgiving at Beach Club. We had a 9 month old with us and wanted her to nap before we switched to our timeshare off property. We were able to stay until 1:00.

I got a 1pm checkout at AOA in July 2014. I asked the day before checkout. I read that I should ask at check-in but I was so excited that I forgot. Worked out fine though.

We usually are able to get late checkout, but a few times have been denied. As PP said, it depends upon how full the resort is at the time.

Just checked out at Art of Animation on New Year's Eve and was able to get a late checkout. We went to the front desk the day before and they checked on their system and it was approved. We had the 1pm checkout. It was not a problem at all, and it was a very busy time!
