Late check out at Value Resorts?

We are staying at Pop Century (two rooms) from January 12-16, 2004. There are 6 of us, 4 adults and two grade schoolers.

We do not fly out of Orlando until 6:30 pm on the evening of the 16th and plan to spend the majority of day at one of the parks.

Do they allow late check-out at the Value resorts? If they don't...my idea was to reserve one room for an additional day so we would all have a place to relax and pack before heading to the airport at 4:00pm.

Has anyone done this before? Or will they allow us to late check-out on just one of the rooms?

Usually, but not always, you can get until 1 for free. You can get later (4, I think) for half price. Depends on occupancy for either, and my experience is that you cannot get late checkout granted until the night before.
