Late check-in

We will be arriving at Orlando airport at 11:30 PM, so probably won't be hitting Pop Century until after one...anyone have any thoughts about very late check-in? Should we be prepared for anything special...never have gotten there that late and I am a little leary. I know this will sound stupid, but they will have a room for us, right? I am always a little baffled at the way they do ressies...you don't really have a room number or section, even if you request one in advance...any thoughts? I'm a little nervous about this, my 53 year old body can't take sleeping on the floor of the lobby Nance

Make sure CRO & the hotel have a note you will be checking in that late. Your room will be ready.

I am not sure you what you mean by "anything special". You will have a room when you check in, which is what you are paying for.

In Dec. we checked in after midnight at Pop. It was great! No lines! No hassles! I want to check in after midnight every trip from now on

We were put in a nice, quiet room in the 50's about a 5 minute walk to the lobby/food court.

Last summer we were voluntarily "bumped" on United, and as a result did not check in the AKL until 11:45. Even though they were not expecting us that late, everything was fine. The only problem we had was that there was NO food, anywhere, not even a candy machine. Even room service stopped at 12. We had not had any dinner, were starved and ate all our granola bars in the suitcase we had packed for breakfast.

We had a delayed flight one year at Christmas time and arrived at the Dolphin at 3:00AM. No waiting in line, that's for sure! I would make sure you put everyone's PJs, toothbrushes etc right on top so you get can hop into bed easier. We were actually so excited that we stayed up and unpacked.
Just let the resort know that you will be a late arrival.

We checked into POP at just about midnight. My husband and daughter immediately went to the food court to get a bite to eat while I stood in line for check-in (the food court closed at midnight). It took me about 15-20 minutes to check-in since there were several people ahead of me. My wait wasn't very long; however, one never knows when a bunch of folks are going to arrive and check-in at the exact same time as you. Be prepared to wait in line for a bit (just in case).

I have never checked into Disney late before, but other hotels I have.
I have always called the front desk directly and asked to note my account what time my arrival was. Also, ask them to note your special requests.
I always call the day of arrival, that morning or early afternoon.

We've done late check in and it is totally hassle free. We're always amazed when we get up the next morning and see the lobby full of people since it is totally empty when we check in!

We have checked in late (Midnight) several times and have never had a problem. Let the hotel know that you are a late check in. The only issue was (as was already stated in an above post) that no food is available at that hour. So, have dinner at the airport or pack snacks.

Hey Mermaid02, We are taking a surprise trip (for me...DH birthday gift!!) in exactly one month...I am so thrilled, have always wanted to go down during the Flower and Garden Fest!!! And do we need it this year, huh??? Am just beside myself. I will call the resort and let them know...it ought to be interesting...we are both early to bed folks and haven't seen midnight for years!!! Nance

Yeah we need it this year!!! Good for you for getting the heck outta here and into some SUNSHINE! What a snowy winter. We didn't get too much Saturday here in the Bangor area... did you get a lot?
