I'm looking at booking a breakfast buffet reservation, but I want a later one. Just curious what happens if you book a 10:45am breakfast, but the restaurant starts lunch at 11:00am? Does the food start to switch over before 11? Are you charged for breakfast or lunch? If they are delayed in seating you until after 11 are you now considered a lunch reservation?

I asked this question about Crystal Palace as we have a really late night before so I moved our 8 am to 10:30 and was told they will have breakfast out and then start switching one side to lunch so you will get to enjoy both and only pay for breakfast.

They will chage you according to your ADR time so even if you're sat late you shouldn't pay more. Always check your receipts anyway.

For breakfast vs lunch food,
1) Lunch changeovers start anywhere between 10:45 and 11:00am.
2) If seated close to 11:)0am or later, there might not be any (or little) breakfast food left.

For meal pricing,
3) It depends,
. . . If you have an early ADR and check-in prior to the lunch-changeover, you get charged for breakfast, even if seated after the lunch-changeover.
. . . If you check-in after the lunch-changeover, you get charged for lunch.
4) So, for your ressie, just BE ON TIME or early.
5) At many eateries, they will honor the price of the ADR, but they do not have to do so.

We at at Crystal Palace last year with a 10:45 ADR. They closed down one side of the buffet at 11:00 and began the switch over to lunch. The lunch side didn't open until 11:30 though.

I hope they are still doing this! We have a 10:35 adr over Memorial Day weekend so I'm expecting to be sat late. I'm really hoping to get some of Poohs french toast though :)

We have done this, on purpose, at Tusker House many times. A late ADR and get the breakfast and lunch options being served.

AS AN FYI - - -
1) This does not surprise me in the least.
2) Tusker is the most guest-friendly character meal at WDW as far a CM's go.
3) They go out of their way to satisfy the guest.
