Late Breakfast ADR at Ohana?

We planned a semi-last minute no parks trip for October and ADR's are hard to come by :)
I managed to get an 11:35 am ADR for Ohana and am looking for advice and opinions! We haven't been to Ohana in a few years because the last time we went it was a late ADR and I was very unimpressed. The food seemed to be sitting around and almost cold and was not very good. The characters were very rushed and were trying to get out of there ASAP. Since we will not have park tickets this trip the whole point of a character meal is for the characters so I am nervous with such a late time slot.
Has anyone had a late ADR at Ohana lately that can comment on the food and character interaction? I have read 50/50 reviews some who felt the same way I did and were recently impressed with food and others who were very rushed even with earlier ADRs...

I'm wondering the same thing. The only Ohana reservation I could get is at 11:40 and I'm really starting to think it might not be worth it for our family. It would be the first day in the Magic Kingdom for my 3 & 5 year old first timers and I don't know how happy they will be to leave the Magic Kingdom at 11 for an Ohana for a break. They might have fun, but if there are seating delays, tired/rushed characters and cold food I don't think any of us will be happy campers and it might just be a waste of good morning park time before an afternoon nap. I'm so torn because I want them to have breakfast at Ohana.

I know we cant be the only two! Hopefully someone can give us an update-the reviews I have been reading are really positive compared to a few months ago-I would just love to hear it from fellow DISers so we can decide!

I can't speak to the time. But I've never been a fan of O'hana breakfast. I've always found it to be very plain compared to other buffets, and then even the basic stuff they have doesn't taste all that great. I would keep an eye out for 1900 Park Fare.

Agree Ohana breakfast was a complete disappointment. Prefer all the other character breakfasts.

The only way I would do a character breakfast is on a day I did not have park tickets and as far as resort character breakfasts go, I cant think of one that stood out as that much better than Ohana. I personally prefer Cape May, but thats because I much prefer their characters.

I can't recall ever being there at that time, but we've done Ohana breakfast at least 10 times and have loved it every time. I hope your experience this time is great!

Maybe is has changed since a few years back - but we had a late ADR (after an early EM MK morning) - we saw a few characters and then my DH wanted more coffee - no coffee could be found for him at the end of our breakfast at O'Hana... DH bought a 2nd cup at Kona on our way out of the Polynesian :goodvibes
