We went to WDW last Sept. mid-month and found the crowds to be really low. Most of the fastpass machines were covered up and almost every ride was a walk-on or we had to wait for 1 group ahead of us. This year we are going the last week of August and I'm not sure how the crowds will compare. I've read anything from really crowded to no crowds at all. Should I assume I'll need to use fastpass at that time? I may have to put more thought into organizing my days at the parks if that's the case. Thanks for any info.
The crowds weren't bad at all. We only got fastpasses for a few rides, longest we waited was tops 20 minutes (Splash Mt. I think) Just try and plan your days ahead of time to figure out which park to go to to miss any crowds that may be there, but like I said we never hit any huge ones.
. We did luck out and have a week that was mostly overcast so the sun wasn't that intense. However,we all agreed that we'd rather deal with the heat in lower crowds than deal with the crowds in lower heat!!! I couldn't imagine being there when it's really crowded and having to wait in long lines for everything.
