I am planning a return trip to Disney next August with hopes that they will offer the free dining plan again. I want to try and take advantage of the free dining (if they offer it) without pulling the kids out of school. Did anyone else go this year towards the end of August and how were the crowd levels?
Thanks!

We were there from 8/28 to 9/4 and the levels were quite low. We normally try to go at that time and the crowds are always quite minimal. Our longest wait time was 15 minutes and that was Soarin'. We didn't even use fastpasses until Labor Day Weekend when the crowds picked up. Perfect time to go. Enjoy!

We were there 08/25-09/01. No crowds. If a park seemed as though there were too many people, we just hopped to another one.

We walked onto Soarin', Test Track, Haunted Mansion, Tough to be a Bug...
Waited no longer than 5 minutes for Pirates, BTMR....
Peter Pan was the longest wait we saw at 20 minutes.

I've been in March, April, September, December and now August, and I would jump at a chance to go the last week in August again. Even with the heat.
