Many people will cancel and change hotels since the LM rooms receive no discount and the suites only get 15%? Right now they are sold out...which also worries me for crowd purposes.

I must say, we are booked at LM and if it werent for my DH and kids, I would be all over changing resorts to a deluxe....to get the 30% off. It is killing me that I am paying rack rate. There are no other values we would switch to and we do not like the Mods so if we would switch, it would be a deluxe (that we normally can't afford)

I notice you haven't stayed at POR. Are you basing your dislike of mods only on CBR? POR is our fav moderate, love the mansion section. We always stay at POR when we don't stay at a deluxe. I would give if a try.

Are you asking because you hope that when/if people cancel or move to other resorts, discounts will be added (LM) or increased (suites)? That's almost certainly not going to happen. Discounts, promotions, sales, etc., are offered to entice consumers to buy (stay, in this case). Art of Animation is new enough and popular enough that drastic discounts aren't necessary.

People booking rooms so they'll have a room on the speculation that there'll be a discount or promotion have a dramatic negative effect on the availability of the discount or promotion at a given resort. Disney's goal is to exceed a certain nightly occupancy level. Let's say it's 75% (it's higher, but I don't know the actual number). If 80% of the AoA rooms are are already booked every night in September, there's no reason to offer a promotion there. Why lose revenue when you don't have to?

I hear you, we booked at the LM, just in case free dining wasn't offered this year, and guess what - it isn't being offered for our dates (late August). Now we have the dilemna of trying to decide if we really want to stay at AOA. My preference is to stay at a Deluxe or Mod, but my wallet says stay value and the LM rooms are the only ones that interest us :confused3. If you can afford to upgrade, that is what I would try to do. And, if your budget doesn't allow for an upgrade this trip, enjoy the LM rooms while they are relatively new.

we stayed at AOA LM rooms in October during a sold-out week. Honestly, it didn't feel crowded at that end of things. The LM pool was rarely crowded, and the bus waits weren't bad at all. The food court got a little crazy, but I think that's typical.

I was thinking that too..With the RO discounts everyone seems like they are switching to other hotels. I did but it only saved me $70..I'm thinking of switching back.to LM..going Aug either 3rd or 4th week

I gotta admit, we upgraded ourselves, after all. I just can't justify paying rack rate. Got BC for 8 nights for 2 adults and 2 kids with 6 day waterpark and hopper passes for $2850. I was paying $2500 at AOA LM before
