Been looking at the possibility of another Christmas trip. We did it in 2012, travelling on the Saturday after school broke up, and returning Christmas Eve. It was a manic two days, but wonderful. :goodvibes This year's term dates are a little kinder, and we could do 3 nights and travel home on the 23rd.

However, I have since found out that arriving on the Friday and staying for 4 nights would actually be cheaper! (2days and nights free). We could get flights and arrive at about 10pm Fri, but that's quite expensive. Or, we could drive and cross straight from school Friday (3hrs drive in the UK for me and 3hrs in France for DH so do-able!) and arrive about 1am. Will check in be open at this time? Will it count as a Friday arrival even though it's technically 1am Saturday morning?

Check in will be open, latest we've checked in was around 12.30am, when our coach was delayed, i imagine its open 24 hours.
As i read it you need to arrive on friday to qualify for the offer, so book that and just give the hotel a ring to say you're going to be late, you've been delayed.
We had to ring when our afternoon flight was cancelled one year and we were put on a flight the following morning, hotel were fine about it. :goodvibes

Thanks, I think I will definitely go for it, and just call ahead to say we are delayed! :goodvibes
