We are planning our first trip to Universal to coincide with a Disney trip. My current plan is to arrive on sunday 8/29, staying at RPR (ent rate of $134 per night) for 1 or 2 nights and then transfer to BWV (renting points for about $100 a night) for 2 or 3 nights. We are going to purchase the 5 day bonus pass and we are using the remainder of our parkhoppers to go to BB and TL (no WDW parks this trip!).

On the first day we would not arrive until noonish but would like to go into the parks that afternoon. I assume that the crowds wouldn't be too bad bacause of the late date in August and that FOTL that we can take advantage of. Which park would be best on this day? I think we would only spend a couple of hours doing this and then go to the pool. We would then go to CW for dinner and whatever else comes our way. The next day we plan on IOA right at the opening, although I don't know how necessary that will be.

Our choice then is to check out and go to BWV that afternoon or stay at RPR for one more night and enjoy the pool for the afternoon. I'm leaning toward leaving not because I think I won't like it but because the cost per night is lower and because we have lots and lots of Disney Rewards dollar to spend and would rather use those than pay for dinner Universal.

The rest of the week is intended for water parks and relaxing. I plan to visit BB and TL on tuesday and thursday (the day we leave) and just pool hop on wednesday, with PI thrown in somewhere.

Advice or thoughts on the Univeral portion of the plan? Please try to be objective!!

You'd go to USF first and ride the Mummy using your Magic keys.

The next day, you'd go to IOA like you said. You go early if you want a front seat on Hulk with no wait, and the front of both Deuling Dragon coasters.

The week starting 08/29 will have very light crowds. Broward school starts that Monday, Orlando and Tampa will have already started. The place is usually a ghost town that week. You picked a great time to come.

Your plans sound great! It sounds like you have it all figured out!

Have fun!

Sounds pretty good - BUT - a reminder - at that time of year, we do have frequent "pop up" showers/scattered thunder storms in the afternoon. Plan on possibly getting wet!:umbrella:

We bought rain ponchos, but hardly use them; we generally go on the "wet" rides in IOA when the rains come, as long as the rides are still running (they sometimes shut down some of the outdoor ones when lightning is coming too close).

You can usually find shows, or go to some of the indoor rides (like Spiderman) if this happens.

Hope this info helps you in your planning!!:sunny:
