Yes, you are (sadly) probably right.

What people might not realize is that at closing, one character after another is disconnected, in sequence. Once you are disconnected, you don't see what the remaining characters "say", so you can't tell who got the last word in.

The screenshots that is most "conclusive" in this very serious business of determining who got the last word in, is a screenshot with only a single person, and some text still on the screen. But that's difficult to get

How about by today! My second BTW.

OutOfMyMind hijacked my bar! And then he turned it into some kind of Coyote Ugly nightmare with patrons behind the bar and frou-frou drinks! It was a respectable dive for ignominious drinking until I lost connection, only to return to a horrific scene of dancing and raspberry ices! Have you no shame, Bob? Or no liquor license?
