...was surprisingly empty! Was everyone in Pandora? Kids still not out of school? My bf and I were trying to figure it out. We had an incredible time aside from a lot of rain and me getting overtired due to not sleeping well and cranky on departure day. This was my fourth trip to Disney World (for him there's been too many to count) and I had some amazing new experiences.

Friday--our arrival day, we flew out after work so did not get there until after about 10pm. Our resort was Pop Century. I almost bought an AP, however the concierge closed JUST after we checked in so I decided it was not meant to be at that time. We were in the 70s section and the construction made it really annoying to find our room at first. We had to divert paths several times and finally found our way around it to the elevators, after that first time though it was pretty smooth sailing.

Saturday--Hollywood Studios and Magic Kingdom. We had originally planned for Pandora in the morning but the crowd reports made us rethink it. Since we were only there for the weekend we didn't want to spend the majority of time standing in line. I made all our FPs for MK and we went to HS mostly just for Star Tours. However when we got there Toy Story Mania was only a 30 min wait, score! I haven't been on it before so double score! Bf beat me on points but I had a higher accuracy ratio. :) After that we basically walked onto Star Tours. Crowds were incredibly low. We wanted something to eat and ended up going to Beaches and Cream unexpectedly--no reservation, but I looked on MDE and found one just as we were leaving the park. Another first for me! Burger was good and we had an incredible sundae.

We power napped at the resort, then I wanted coffee so bf suggested we go to the Grand Floridian to get it since he knows I like the atmosphere, and also so we could park and take the monorail to MK from there. This is about the time the rain started...and kept going...and going...and soaked us by the time we got to MK. Well, we weren't going to let it ruin our day so we got ponchos and I splashed through every puddle I could find. All our FPs were for indoor attractions (Space Mountain, Peter Pan's Flight and Buzz Lightyear) AND we had CRT for dinner and the Tomorrowland Dessert Party, so we soon dried off. The rain ended in the early evening and the fireworks went off without a hitch. I loved CRT and we had an amazing time at the dessert party. Absolutely jam-packed and wonderful day.

Sunday--Epcot. We just could not make it to the end. It was rain, rain and more rain and we ended up leaving the park around 6, but we did get to ride Soarin' twice, ate at Rose and Crown (walk up) and Biergarten (last minute MDE reservation, though it was so empty inside we definitely could have walked up there too) and had snacks/drinks at France and Japan. Again, just very low crowds and of course the rain drove away more.

Monday--Whispering Canyon Cafe for breakfast, then we were going to decide on something to do (Disney Springs, Boardwalk etc) before the flight but I'm afraid I got overtired and stressed over something happening at home and we ended up going to the airport and got on an earlier flight by standby. Which again, amazingly low crowds at the airport and we had absolutely no trouble getting to the gate asap and getting on this early flight! I'm still trying to figure out why no one was traveling this weekend!

Anyway, overall an amazing time though I hope on future trips I'll get more rest. :)

We were there too and it was odd. On Saturday, there were times when Na'vi was listed as a 50-minute wait and FoP at less than 100 minutes. TSMM was <30 minutes. We were at AK on Friday, AK/MK on Saturday, and went to Epcot for a bit on Sunday before DME picked us up. I was so intrigued that I've been looking at wait times all this week; if they're better than last, we'll switch our trip dates next June, but they seem to have gone back up! It rained for our entire vacation and in the early-mid week, it did help to clear some of the crowds but certainly not all of them, and I didn't notice a drastic drop in wait times. Last weekend felt like a ghost town compared to the days prior.

We are looking to visit next year sometime between Memorial Day and the middle of June. I was leaning towards Memorial Day week, but these reports have made me think about changing to the first week of June. Could your experiences this past weekend be due to the weather? Maybe it kept a lot of locals away?

It absolutely could have. The weather wasn't typical for June and when it rained, it poured and stormed for hours on end. We always travel the first Saturday in June through the following Sunday or Monday and this was the first time our entire vacation was a washout. I will say, wait times that week were certainly higher than we've experienced before and the sudden decrease over the weekend surprised me. I've been watching wait times, in consideration of switching our week as I mentioned above, but they seem to have fallen back into what I'd expect for mid-June despite the near constant rain.

That makes sense. Locals wouldn't go in pouring rain but those that planned a vacation are more likely to go. At least with a WDW vacation you can still do things in the rain. I cancelled a beach vacation for that weekend because it was going to rain the entire time.

I was at MK on Saturday (10th) and have never seen a slower day in MK in June. Nearly everything was a small wait. A small small wait after all....
