Hello all,

We are in the very very very early stages of planning a trip in 2013! Boyfriend is still undecided but he's getting closer and closer to breaking point so I want to be prepared when he finally cracks :rotfl2:

Would absolutely love to do May again but I think we need a little more time to save so I was originally thinking mid-September. However, in the last few days I've realised if we went a little later then Halloween Horror Nights will have started  Not so much bothered about MNSSHP but I went to HHN in 2003 and it was one of the best things I have ever been to! So I'm thinking roughly last week in September, first week in October.

Anything I should know about this time of year? I understand September can be rainy so I'm unsure whether we would be better picking 2 weeks in October? I'm assuming flight prices would jump up during school holidays so would like to avoid them at all costs.

That's usually the 2 weeks we go every year though this year im having to go first 2 weeks in September.

I would say be prepared for afternoon thunder storms at least thats what the weather man says every morning. It does cloud over but more unusal than usual to get rained on.

Last 3 year trips at that time we had 20 mins of rain one day and a long evening rain storm that went on for ages but late at night.

Maybe we're just lucky but i wouldn't expect any if much rain at that time.

Oh and yes avoid the school holiday period if at all possible. Increased Q times and as you say possible flight costs as well.

Thanks General Panic! Good to hear of someone who actually goes at that time of year.

In 2010 those were the same weeks we went. Not a drop of rain! Now it CAN rain and who knows what will happen with the weather but we found it pleasantly hot (not uncomfortable) and the humidity was pretty low too, which helps a lot for those who find it makes the heat unbearable.

Parks were fairly uncrowded. With MNSSHP running a little more frequently than it does in the earlier part of September we quickly learnt that on non party days, MK got really busy by around noon and you do need to take that into account if you plan on staying to watch parades and fireworks because although wait times remained fairly moderate in the standby lines, indicating low crowds, parade time was not much quieter than what we've experienced in heavily crowded seasons. Best days for MK if you are only doing day time is actually the day of the party as we found those to be significantly quieter.

Epcot will also have the F&W Festival in full swing and if you haven't done it, I highly recommend it. More so for a couple without children if you want to really enjoy a few drinks with your food samples.

The ONLY reason we are going earlier this year is due to my DD's school trip in early October, otherwise this would have been the time we booked to go. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Personally I think it's one of the best time's of year to go, and in fact I'm going out in the last week of October this year.

I've not much to add to other's posts. HHN And MNNSHP are great, F&W is awesome. It does rain now and then in the afternoon but it's not terrible and the temps are back down in liveable numbers again which is great.

This is usually at the top of my list for dates to visit WDW, with XMas (partly for the atmosphere and partly because my DVC points have a Dec use year) and my birthday coming in 2nd and third.

Thanks all, sounds like its a relatively good time to go!

I've become a bit obssessed with planning for 2013 and so you may see a lot more of my questions! ;)

Thats my absolute favourite time to go! Low crowds, warm weather, little or no rain, cheap and packed with Halloween events. Go for it!!
