Well, my husband has once again thrown me a curveball and we might have to change our trip dates AGAIN (arggh!).

Is there any advantage/disadvantage between going the last week of September (23-29) versus the first week of October (5-11)? The latter includes more weekend days, which I know will be busier, so that's a downside, but will have more changes to see Fantasmic and Fireworks, which is a positive, so maybe a draw there? Unless the weekend would be just totally undoable. (We are not big on mega-crowds.)

I am not sure about any of this as I have never gone at this time, but trying this year. However the week in oct you are going is thanksgiving in Canada, not sure how much that will effect crowds and if more will be down at that time.

We'll be there Sept 22-29.

I found that the hotels were quite a bit cheaper the last week of September rather than October. I think it was close to $450 cheaper for the hotel we selected. Absolute pro for me.

Check to see what rides and such will be down at those times too. Also, I think Fantasmic may only be on weekends then but check that too. That may help your decision making. It certainly helps mine :)

Does anyone know how the crowd levels compare to these two weeks (starting Sep 23 or Oct 5)? I'm worried about the holiday and events, as far as they effect crowds?

try and google crowd calenders there are a few out there, but I really dont think to much of them. They are a guideline but not the most accurate!

I know no one thinks much of Touring Plans Crowd Crowd Calendar here, but I have a subscription for the Lines App and the calendar shows the week of the 23rd on a scale of 1-10, 10 being the most crowded, as follows: Sun-7 Mon-2 Tues-2 Wed-2 Th-2 Fri-3 Sat-6

The week starting Sept 30: Sun-6, Mon-3, Tues-1, Wed-2, Th-4,Frid-5, Sat-8, Sun-7

Thank you for sharing! Even if it's not 100 percent accurate (or even 75%), at least it's something to go on. :)

I used to have a subscription for Lines (aka Touring Plans) but didn't renew it after I discovered easywdw.com, which I think is better at crowd predictions for Disney World AND free, and Disney released the Mobile Magic app for iPhones. Before that I had found the Lines app pretty helpful.

Did you by chance have the October 5 week?
