Any DVCers going to be at WDW around Memorial Day into June - where are you guys stayin?... We've never been to Orlando that time of year but the DVC gods have been looking over our shoulder -- we got the 2 dining reservations that we wanted ((yeah to date there's only 2 restaurants that we are going to as we don't like to be tied down to reservations daily)), we got our standard studio at BLT and our waitlist came through for our Boardwalk View villa :banana:

Comparing this time of year to Labour Day would you say the temps are similar? Those of you who've been to Star Wars days --- do you think it's something that 2 adults would like, there's no kids on this trip? Other than the actual Memorial Day weekend which I am certain will be very busy how are the lines?

We'll be there at that time. We have 6 nights at BLT in a lakeview 1 bedroom, then 7 nights at Kidani in a savannah view 2 bedroom, and a couple of nights at Universal. We were there at the same time last year, and it was more crowded than we were used to. We went to SWW a couple of times, and it was crazy busy. We just spent more time at our resort last year and had a great time just enjoying the pool.

Wish that we could be there! You will need to have fun for us as well, been 2 years since we have been able to go...I really miss it

Other than Memorial day Weekend itself, the time period is one of the lower crowd times that I have encountered. Northern and local Florida schools will still be in session so the crowds are much lighter than in later June.

It will be very warm to hot. I would suspect high 80's to low 90's for temperatures. Rain is hit or miss, not quite as frequent as July I have found. Weather is always a crapshoot though, we can have a record heat wave or unseasonably mild. It has been a good time for us in the past and we will be there starting either Monday-Memorial Day or Tuesday staying through the weekend at BCV!!

Been several times the last weekend in May through early June. The # of points required are fewer than say mid June at all of the resorts. It is still hot and crowded in MHO, but nothing like mid June through mid August.

If you are not already aware, the 1st week in June is "GAY Days" at Disney.

We've gone the first week of June twice and loved it. We don't like to take DD out of school for an entire week so like to go the first week school is out. Also, I love the fact that the points a little less than the rest of summer. Not going this year and will surely be missing WDW come June 1.

We've been a few times around that time of year. Crowds are not bad except over the Memorial Day weekend itself, and even that is much, much less than say July 4th or the Christmas/New Year's time frames. I'm excited because both my daughters are now in college & they will be done with classes by the 2nd Friday in May......which just happens to coincide with my birthday.....a BIG one!

I'm planning the "replacement" trip for our Christmas trip as we speak!

We always go first week of June. Last year the crowds were much worse (more crowded) than normal. I hope that it's not a trend.

We'll probably just miss you. We are at WDW June 7-17, staying at AKV for 6 nights and VWL for 4 nights. We'll have family with us for part of the AKV stay and we are looking forward to attending Star Wars Weekend.

By the way: I'm assuming the Canucks will still be playing hockey in late May. Where do you plan on watching any of the Stanley Cup games while at WDW?

Regarding Star Wars Weekend: We really enjoyed all the special events at Hollywood Studios, and the SWW parade is awesome. The Disney characters dress up as Star Wars characters and a lot of Park visitors dress up as well. Even if you aren't a big Star Wars fan like us, I think you'll enjoy SWW. If you go, be sure to get to Hollywood Studios early for the Rope Drop. Storm troopers man the turnstiles and put on a good show while you wait for DHS to open.

Here are some photos of SWW. First, Mickey and Minnie as Jedi Knight and Princess Leia:

I love your photos from the Studios!

Yes Hockey + Disney = less time at the park and more time at the ESPN lounge I suspect! I just had a realization the last time I was at Disney during the playoffs the Canucks went all the way to the very end ((UUGH don't remind me of the outcome tho lol)) H E Double Hockey Sticks or high water we'll find somewhere to watch the Canucks games for the play-offs.

Our family will be at WDW from May 22-30. We will be celebrating DS's high school graduation. We are also staying at BLT in a 2 bedroom!!:cloud9::woohoo::yay:

Enjoyed the pictures.... reminded me of past visits during Star Wars Weekend.

We'll be there from May 24 through June 6. :thumbsup2
As others have said, the crowds have been getting bigger. As far as the first week in June, i hear concerning Gay days that they basically go to one park each day (could be wrong), but if you're trying to avoid crowds, go to another park that day.

I'll be staying at BLT the first weekend in June, 6/3-6/6 to enjoy Star Wars weekends. I was able to get the last studio, MK view (according to my guide).

I'm excited for my first stay on points!
