So what do you all think??? If I could, and stress "IF", I would cancel w/ Delta now, get a refund, and then book on AA  . But since that can't happen, anyone have any other ideas, other than hoping for the best?? :confused3

I can't offer you any advice but we are in a similar situation and I am curious to see what advice others offer. We are flying Delta for our May7-14th Disney trip. Hope we get some good advice!

I, too, am flying Delta for a 4/28-5/6 trip. This will (hopefully) be our first trip to Disney. At this point, a part of me wants to book flights on Southwest, but I can't talk myself into spending the additional cash. Does anyone else have any contingency plans?

Sincerely hoping my 5pm ADR for Le Cellier on 5/4 will NOT open up due to a Delta stike,

Amy

jenjo, this may be more helpful to you, as you live within "driving distance." The Robbs, California would be quite a drive!

My Plan B is to rent a car and drive home to Kansas City if the Delta pilots strike while I'm in WDW. I've reserved a car using the snow bird special at AVIS--see the Transportation board for the link as I haven't reached the minimum number of posts required to post links. I'm very grateful to PlutosPup for posting this link on the Transportation board!

If the pilots strike prior to my departure to Orlando, I will either a) cancel the trip and reschedule or b) try to see what I can get via standby on another airline. Worst-case scenario for the standby option is that I can't get anything and will have to drive the 30 minutes back home and reschedule our trip.

Good luck, everyone!

If Delta changes your flight times more than 90 minutes you are eligbible for a refund. Call customer service as soon as they change them. This happened to us and I was able to cancel without penalty last week. (Oh and our flights weren't until July)

We leave on April 20th!!! I am hoping & praying they do not strike. We have talked about driving but really do not want to do that from NH. But we do have
3 drivers in the family. I am really hoping for a 3 hour plane ride!!! Please send
the pixie dust my way!!!!

This is interesting.. :listen:

Please tell me more. If your flight times are changed by 90 minutes or more, you can cancel w/ a full refund on a NON refundable ticket??

Thanks,

Sean

Yep! We had non-refundable tickets. Delta made both of our non-stop flights connecting ones with layovers. We were arriving in Orlando several hours later as well. I called and talked to Customer Service. They said that because the departure or arrival times were changed by more than 90 minutes we were eligible for a full refund.

Now, someone posted that Delta's policy is actually 2 hours but I was told twice on the phone it was 90 minutes. Also, on another Delta thread I also posted on someone else was able to get a refund after her flights were changed exaclty 90 minutes.

It took a while on the phone but it was worth it to me. They are sending the refund check to Disney as I had booked my air as part of the package thorugh AAA. It has made my anxiety level go WAY down not having to worry about it anymore.

the only $$$ I lost was the change ticket fee that I had already paid after I had originally booked the tickets (my dumb mistake). They refunded me the full price that I had paid at the time of booking.

Good Luck!
