Hi everyone... we're going again... late july. This will be the last trip we take as a family before im an adult so im paying for all the food so we can eat at nice places, im saving hundreds of dollars for it from work all year to make sure of it. But my parents dont know about it... I'm hoping to make 3 or 4 reservations before we go (we're staying 7 nights). I've already decided on Ohana for one night, and California Grill during the fireworks, I was wondering about a good restaurant for Illuminations and also fantasmic (i heard there is a restaurant that has a balcony that oversees the show) or just restaurants anywhere that have good food. Any help would be appreciated... if you need more details, mom loves lots of stuff, including sea food and european cuisine... but she doesnt like meat much... im the same way but i love meat... and my dad doesnt like dairy too much and is a huge meat eater... hope that helps.... thanks.

Tony

Well you've already got the one I would suggest for meat eaters. Ohana is a good choice.

The Concourse Steakhouse is a good choice, located in The Contemporary Resort.

For more feedback and even menus, go to www.wdwig.com and look under the dining section. Lots of good info.

BTW....What you're doing for your parents is really cool, and they'll appreciate it more than you'll ever know. They should be really proud of you!

Have a great trip Tony! Remember, you're never to old to enjoy Disney. It's just a destination, it's a state of mind.

Sorry, that should be "It's NOT just a destination, it's a state of mind"

One day I'll learn how to type.

Your title s funny... I stopped going to WDW fo a longtime becasue I thougt it was for "kids". Well, after taking our 4yo lsat year (and going back 6 times since) we are big time WDW addicts!!! Don't everstop going!!! I wasted so many precious years (I am 36).
Ohana is great!!! You can see the Castle changing colors and the fireworks if you time it right. Find out what time the fireworks will be. Le Cellier in Epcot is my favorite. Hollywood and Vine is a great buffet for before Fantasmic or Brown Derby .

I also wanted to let you know how cool it is that you are treating your parents.

My DH and I are big meat eaters and our three favorites were Cinderella's Royal Table, Le Cellier Steakhouse and Ohanas.

Both CRT and Le Cellier have really great steak/roast beef and they also have several fish/seafood entrees. You should definitely check out the menus for additional suggestions.

Thanks a bunch... I was looking at the restaurant choices i've been reading about here and other sites... I've made 4 reservations... 'Ohana, Shula's, Callifornia Grill (During fireworks at MK) and Jiku... i hope those are good places... and i hope i have the money for those places hehe... anyone that's been there know what an average night would cost for 3 people at any of those resaurants??? thanks

See the menus at wdwig.com!!! jiko is wonderful!!!! We ate there when we stayed at AKL- what a beautiful hotel!

godsmack241, don't be surprised if Mom cries! I think what you're doing is so nice. I took my 2 sons to WDW 3 weeks ago-the last "family" trip before they become adults. DS #1 just graduated from college and got his job contract faxed to him while we were there. Your parents might appreciate if you offer to go someplace you went with them when you were much younger-was there a special character meal? Moms can get real nostalgic. I remember going to the Trail's End Buffeteria with my sons when they were little, and so that was probably one of my most favorite meals this trip. See what I mean?

Hehe, thanks, i understand what you mean... only thing i remember from when i was little was some character breakfast on a boat... dont remember what it was though.... and im 16 btw... we wont be going next year unless i save all my money from work this year to pay for us because we are saving for a trip to europe for my highschool graduation.... i know its not the last family trip anywhere, but last one to disney, and thats the most important place in the world to me so i try and make every trip good hehe.

That's really nice of you :) Your parents are going to be so surprised. The IllumiNations restaurant you're thinking of is the Rose & Crown in England. When you make a PS, they'll tell you that patio seating isn't guaranteed ... but if you make a reservation before 7:30 PM, you'll improve your chances.
