I have a question for you guys...

I have a niece named Jade who's just about four. She's very princessy and lives in Idaho with my sister and her boyfriend (Jade's dad), so I rarely see her. My sister's birthday is in March and this year, I sent her a Disney Villains snowglobe from disneystore.com (Becky loves the villains) and also sent Jade one of the My Disney Girl dolls, which she named Cinderella. I really want to take her down to WDW at some point, but I'm not sure how old she should be when I take her. My mom suggested waiting until she's tall enough to go on everything, and she's 40" tall right now. I'm thinking that whenever I do take her, it'd be in October or November so we could hit up one of the parties, because I think she'd like that. What do you guys think? When should we take her to meet Cinderella? :)

Dana have you talked to your sister & Jade's Dad at all ? IMHO I think I would wait until 5 or 6 even...2 reasons you rarely see her...so I think I would wait a little & maybe make a trip to them in between other reason 4 y/o may need Mom/Dad more than anyone thinks until you're at WDW and then maybe its a tough go...then I would go either Oct/Nov either party

My DD's first trip was when she was four and it was wonderful. I'm thinking Jade should be able to ride everything she'd want to ride by the fall. It seems like the magic for her would be in meeting the princesses. My best friend and I were just talking about this yesterday. She's got twin girls who will be four next year and she is planning to take them then.

Good points, Ruthie.

Oh, believe me, they've known I want to take her since before she was even born :lmao: I wouldn't be taking her anytime soon because I really don't have the money, so it'd be in a few years. I'd also want it to be a family trip with our parents and our brother and his girlfriend and Jerry (Jade's dad), so it wouldn't just be me and her, which is probably how that sounded. But yeah, Becky and Jerry have known since before Jade was even born that there'd be a family Disney trip in the works at some point. My brother and sister have actually never been, so it'd be their first trip, too. But it definitely wouldn't be for at least a year, and it wouldn't be just me and her.

Well, it wouldn't be this fall. No one in my family would have the money right now, so I'm mainly just getting an idea for what age would still be magical for her to go. I'd love to be able to take her now, but there's no way, you know?

Oh for goodness sake Dana thought you were asking about this year possibly :rolleyes1 silly girl....back to NOW business Ness did you get the shorts >

:lmao: I guess I worded it wrong :) I just want to take her before she gets "too old" to be a princess, you know? She's very girly, which is hilarious for people who know my sister. But yeah, it wouldn't be for at least a year or two. We'd have to plan the whole thing with my entire family, which will be difficult to get everyone's vacation schedules together and... yeah. :rotfl: It'll be a while :)

Seriously too old...she isn't even 4 yet :rotfl2: let me tell you if I had long hair I would be sitting in BBB..with the rest of the kids...NEVER to old to be a Princess :goodvibes would you like to see the wand the Fairy Godmother gave me at CRT ? I was treated royally !

:lmao: That's why it was in quotation marks :) I don't think you're ever too old, but my sister would. BBB is one of the things I want her to be able to do, and I think I'm the only one who'd pay for it for her. Funnily enough, on the trip that I'm planning now for me and my best friend and her husband, we were talking about Jacquie and I going to BBB just for fun :goodvibes We haven't decided yet, though.

Best advice for your sister I would point her to these boards & then she will see for herself all about everything Dis....tell me when you & Jacquie do this I will be there with my camera :goodvibes

I did find a couple pair. Once I get home and start to see what I'm working with, I'll be able to decide if I need any more. I wear a lot of capris so shorts are not plentiful in my wardrobe.

Once we start actually planning the trip and I'm not just thinking about it, I definitely will point her here. I love this forum :goodvibes A good friend of mine works with handicapped kids and will be adopting one of her charges in the next few years, and I know that they both love Disney, so I told her that if they're ever planning another trip to check out the disAbilities part of this forum :)

That'll be sometime in the second week of January, if we do it :teeth: We're trying to decide if we want to do BBB or Pirate's League.

I like capris too...I never thought I would since I'm 5'4" and always thought it wouldn't look good but I much rather wear them or even a skirt or sundress...shorts for me are kicking around the house ...only the animals roll their eyes then :rotfl2:

DD & you getting excited...can you stand it !! :woohoo:

Yes! DD was just telling Grandpa about how departure day will go. We board our plane at 6AM for a 6:30 flight. We'll have to get up around 3AM. It takes us about 20 minutes to get to the airport. I'm on the Dis reading about Pop and worrying about the building I requested. I read on another thread that they are refurbing the building I requested. I don't know if that's going to work in my favor or not.
