So I wonder if I'll wake up tomorrow morning to find the thread closed!

Fran took a tumble today and we're afraid that she might have broken her foot. We're going to get an xray tomorrow, but please send whatever good thoughts you have that she did not break the foot and just sort of owied her toe. It's really swollen and hurts her to walk on it, but since she can walk on it I hope that it's not broken. This could jeapordize her knee replacement that she is so looking forward to!

AHHHHHH :scared1: :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Oh no :( I hope it's just a sprain :grouphug: Is she okay aside from her foot? You guys have been icing it, right?

She has been icing her knee...she took a whole fall on the right side and has some nasty bruises developing on the whole right side. Normally tonight we would have slept in apt 2, but she doesn't think she can walk that far. The ironic thing is that if she did walk that far she has a shorter trip to the bathroom as the side of bed she sleeps on in that apt is closer to the bathroom. I don't know if the cumulative trips to the bathroom would work out to less footage.

When I broke my foot, I couldn't even put pressure on it, but everyone is different and we all have different pressure thresholds. We hope this does not jeapordize her knee surgery in less than 3 weeks!

I guess we'll find out when the results come in from tomorrow's pictures!

Wow, so I never got a notification for your reply :(

Is she on blood thinners or anything like that? That might explain the extensive bruising. We have some residents who are on such a strong dose of Coumadin that if we hold onto their arm or waist to help them stand up, they get faint bruises where we held them. It's a pain in the neck.

I really hope it's just a sprain, though. Let us know, okay?

She has diagnosed herself as without a broken foot since she can move her toes etc. Hopefully her diagnosis is correct! She is not on blood thinners.

That's good that she can move her toes :) Can she rotate her ankle without it hurting, or is it just the foot itself that hurts?

Good morning everyone.

Hope Fran is able to walk!

Busy weekend for me here. Will be in and out ...when you least expect!
