Glad you enjoyed your dinner with your family Dana!

Wow Kim! Don't these critters really get in the way of our lives? I had four wasp nests growing on the side of our building. I tried to take one of them out Saturday, but evidently didn't spray it long and hard enough. A friend who is fearless came over today and knocked out three of them, but ran out of spray before he could get the fourth. Hopefully he'll come by and get it tomorrow.

Good luck with your squirrel!

Aww, the poor squirrel. I hope he manages to get out okay, even if he needs some help.

I'm done with the laundry at work already, since there wasn't much. So now I'm just sitting here listening to 80s rock on YouTube :lmao: What are you ladies up to? :)

We're watching TV, Bones to be specific...we're watching the episode where Hodgins and Angela got put in jail together....I gues this is where they get back together? We missed like April through May on most of our TIVO'd shows because we got behind and they didn't record since the TIVO was full.

We've had to record old shows and not watch the newer ones until we saw the older shows....

I don't want to say specifically :) I liked that episode, though. I'm watching some Al Pacino movie, as I've run out of ideas for songs to look up on YouTube. I usually watch TV online if I miss something, but not everyone likes doing that. I just think Hulu or the network website is easier for me than putzing with a VCR, since we don't have a DVR or Tivo.

We have a really nice big screen TV, which was left to us from our friend. He was diagnosed with cancer several years back and he moved out of his house and we let him live in our 2nd apartment rent free until he needed to go home for hospice, so that he didn't need to live with his parents. When he moved in he bought this TV and said that when he had to go home we could keep it.

He passed away a little over 2 years ago, and we thank him for the very nice TV and the fact that he introduced us to his father's girlfriend (commonlaw wife) who has been an angel in our lives. So we like to watch our programs on the TV. Plus we have so many that I have to actually keep a spreadsheet to make sure we watch them all!

That was nice of you guys, to let him stay there for free :) And it was nice of him, too, to give you guys the TV! My TV is just this little TV-VCR combo. I've had it for about ten years now and will be replacing it in a few months, since it only has one audio input, so I lose half the sound when I'm watching anything. It aggravates me, since if it's something I haven't seen before, I don't know what I'm missing.

I don't have that many shows. I have Castle, Bones, Glee, and Supernatural. I also like Leverage, but I don't have cable to watch it :lmao:

We'd be lost without cable! Half of our favorite TV shows are on Cable...Burn Notice, White Collar, Covert Affairs, Leverage, The Closer, Rizzoli & Isles, Psych, plus don't even get me started on the Food Network Shows!

Speaking of all that, I really miss Ruthie! I just caught a show of her favorite for the Next Food Network Star yesterday and it was pretty good. I'm sorry that she is missing that, plus I miss her witty commentary in the LTP land. Hopefully we will at least see her occasionally if not back completely soon. At least once LTP 11 starts up again.

BTW if you and Sharon keep going like you have been, we'll be done by next week!

My mom and I were talking about getting it, but my dad refuses. So until I move into my own place again, no cable

I miss Ruthie, too! I hope things are going okay for her.

:lmao: I did notice that :) I don't think it'd be next week, though :teeth:

I hope it does wrap up before Destination-D. I am getting so psyched! We are starting to set plans and since I'm not doing a PTR I'll tell you gals. My parents are coming down the weekend before. They arrive Sat the 19th late in the evening. Don't know what we'll be doing for meals (which is unusual, cause mom and me usually have this all mapped out!) But Sunday morning our swing band has a gig -about 4 blocks from our house- from 9:30-11:30AM so that's sort of an ordeal. After that I want to go to our favorite coffee shop with everyone in the band who wants to go and get lunch and bring my parents.

After that who knows! On Monday we reservations at the Chef's Counter at Napa Rose, Fran and I plan on letting Chef Sutton just "cook for us" and that is our two year wedding anniversary, my parents celebrate 46 years on Saturday so maybe we should go out that night too, the real celebration is planned for Monday.

My parents leave Tuesday, and we go to band so that's a drive by eating. Wednesday we are going to an Octoberfest at Disneyland. So by Thursday when we check into the Villas we have decided that a home cooked meal will be in order. Luckily we have a 1 bedroom Villa with a full kitchen. In the next day or two I plan to make a meatloaf that I will put in the freezer to take with us along with some potatoes and veggies. We will also bring a cooked rotisserie chicken from Costco that we can make into chicken salad sandwiches, chicken pieces or chicken sandwiches. Plus, I'll bring some kielbasa and Velveeta shells and cheese because that is my weakness. That way we have the option of eating in the parks or DTD if we want, but if we're too tired and want to go back to the room we have food there as well.

It's only Friday & Sat of seminars, but who knows how much break time we'll have so the option to bring sandwiches will be nice and having food in the room is great when we come back late tired and starving. We can take off our shoes kick back and cook something nice and easy.

I'm starting to get very psyched about this. Packing comes very soon!

:lmao: I'm sure we'll be done by then :) That's over two weeks away :)

Your plans sound good! I think my parents are thinking about getting a cabin at FW for the reunion, since that way they'd have a full kitchen. I'm not sure, though, as everything is up in the air with regards to that.

I know you folks are tight on money, it would be so wonderful if you could afford to rent points and get a DVC Grand Villa! Those things are wonderful, not that I know, but I did see one on a tour at SSR! They sleep 12, 2 in the master, 4 in each of the 2 brs and two on the couch. I think in some places like Kidani they have a sleeper chair in the LR for a 13th person. Personally I'd go nuts with that many people sharing a villa, but its HUGE, they even have a pool table. It's two stories (at most places) and the people in the extra bedrooms have their own entrance from the upper floors so they don't have to disturb the people in the Master (on the ground floor) and the LR pull out, if they come home late.

There is even a full dining room in addition to the huge kitchen. I looked at them because we would like to take some of our friends with us on DVC vacations, but after seeing how many points they cost, we decided just to take each set of friends separately and either get a 2 bedroom lock off or if it was one friend in particular, we would stay at the AKV and she could sleep on the couch and have her own bathroom off the kitchen. The units at Kidani AKV have two bathrooms in a one bedroom and that is the biggest concern. It would suck to share 1 bathroom between three people!

Kitchens on vacation are so nice. I can't understand people who don't want to cook on vacation because I don't want to spend every night out and about, and Fran can't do it, she just gets too tired. It's so nice to spend a night in watching TV or a DVD while enjoying a home cooked meal, and when I realized that we were going to be out at least three nights before our stay at the VGC I was even more thrilled to make dinner in advance and cook it once got there. When we went to NZ it was a joy for me to shop in the markets and cook dinner for us on two nights out of the 2 weeks we were there. Perhaps I might have done more, but those two night stood out because as much as I tried to make the taste of home, the meat didn't taste like it does in the states and it was just funny. But at least in Florida and certainly in CA when I bring stuff from my home market we will have that "taste of home".

Do they charge the extra adult fee for the grand villas and such? We're leaning toward everyone getting their own room because it would just be easier. Everyone's paying for themselves and, with that, if they can't make it, there's no "Oh, this person needs their money back and now someone has to put in for their share", you know? I'd love to stay in a grand villa or a huge suite one day... As long as I can afford it. :lmao:

princess::upsidedow is back in that fleetingly brief place of LAST, where I belong :thumbsup2

Love the raccoons and I hope the squirrel gets out okay.

And if Ruthie ever logs on again, I miss her too!

I'm sure Ruthie will log on at some point :) And if not, then you and I will see her at Crystal Palace around 6pm in 47 days :) She also has my cell phone number, so if she needs to get a hold of me offline, she can.

How are you doing tonight? I keep dozing off at work because my sleep schedule got nine kinds of crazy this weekend.

I'm doing okay. Still coughing; but at least I could concentrate at work today without getting dizzy.

What about you? And why is your sleep schedule out of whack?

That's good  I hope you keep getting better. How was DH's trip to SF?

My sleep schedule's out of whack because over the weekend, I'd doze off for about four hours, wake up for a few hours, doze off again, etc. So, today, I woke up at 2:30am, went back to sleep around 7:30 or 8am, woke up around 1:30pm (planned to wake up around 3, though), and have been up since then. I get off in just over two hours and will be going home and passing out.

DH's trip to SF was good. He's come back tired and a bit thinner than I remember. I suspect that he worked too hard and stayed up late at night; and didn't eat that well whilst he was over there.

He's back to routine and in the time zone again. He had a good 11 hours sleep last night and I think that helped him.

You only have to keep awake for another 3 or 4 hours....hang in there..

How about we push this thread along a couple of pages?

:lmao: If you want to :) I'm watching Iron Man (again) to help me stay awake. Explosions + humor = better than caffeine (for me, anyway).

Well, its about when we want to hit page 250.....this weekend or next?

I liked Iron Man - not sure if I like RD Jr in the role; but it was a fun movie.

:rotfl: I'm good either way :)

I actually really like him in this role. I think it and Sherlock Holmes were excellent roles for him. I haven't seen Iron Man 2 yet, but it's in my Netflix queue, so I'll get it in a couple weeks :)
