Yes Kim, a sad day 7/13 not just for Yankee fans but so many more I always knew he had a big heart but since moving here I have found out so much more...I get goose bumps that the foundation he started down here for the families of fallen POs was mentioned just last week over & over again due to the 2 Tampa Bay PO's and then a week after their funerals later he goes home....my first thoughts were the Cops went on ahead to escourt him...ironically my Dad was buried exactly 10 yrs ago to the day that George died. He was a BIG Yankee fan..this kind of stuff always comforts me in a way I can't explain

I think that's who they mean, I don't follow sports other than what one hears on the news reports, and I usually forward my TIVO through the sports reports. I'm glad that he was a great guy, most aren't, right now the Dodgers owners are going through a nasty divorce which doesn't make me like professional sports. A radio station locally here runs a story, "Athlete arrest of the day". It's sad that they have enough material for that. I find it hard to find an interest in professional sports, when the LA Unified School District is laying off over 1/3 of the staff, teachers and administrators when these ********* are taking in salaries in the 25 to 50 million dollars.

Agreed. I like to watch baseball, but that's only when I'm home and it's on But yeah, there is NO reason for those people to be making so much money when there are so many other people in the world and in this country who can't even afford a loaf of bread.
