You know, my brother actually got a Go-Bot stuck in his eye that way? He and his friend were shooting it up with a slingshot and they looked up to watch it come down. It landed in his eye....

...when my DH was a kid, he was lining up a putt shot by his friend and was bent down eye-level to one side of the cup. His friend hit the golf ball, but had hit it too hard, because it bounced right over the cup and smack-dab into my DH's nose and broke it!

My sister once took a large cardboard box and went sledding down our basement stairs. When it hit the floor, it tipped over and threw her onto the concrete floor, fracturing her orbit (the bone around her eye). She looked like my parents had beat her up, and school pictures were two days later :lmao:

We injured ourselves a LOT as kids.

She was about four when she fell on icy stairs and hit her head and needed stitches.

I hit my head on the radiator while bouncing around on my bed, needing stitches.

My brother threw a 2x4 in the air and it hit my sister in the head, needing stitches.

When I was about six, I stepped in front of an open fire hydrant and was blown across the street and hit my head on the curb. I was knocked unconscious, my brother enlisted some random passerby to carry me home. More stitches.

When my brother was 16, he went pier diving and degloved his scalp.

When my SISTER was 16, she was run over by a bus and had her elbow crushed, forearm fractured, and shoulder dislocated.

When I was 19, I fell through an open stair while my dad was repairing the back steps and sprained my foot.

When I was 20, I tripped over my own too feet and sprained my OTHER foot while exiting a clean, vacant room while working as a housekeeper at the Boardwalk.

A few years ago, my brother broke his ankle roller skating.

My brother also stepped through the gap between the train platform and the train car and had to scream at the conductor not to go, otherwise his leg would have been torn off.

Um...

I think that's everything.

...wow. just......WOW.

...good thing they didn't have OSHA back-in-the-day....or DYFS.....:scared:

Oh, they had DCFS here. Our school almost called them on my parents when my sister had the accident with the box and the stairs. My mom had been doing laundry when it happened, and the doctor had to provide X-rays and everything to prove that it was just an accident.

...yikes...

Yep. The two major accidents (my brother's pier diving and my sister's bus incident) were obviously accidents. We weren't even in town the night my brother got hurt. The rest of us were just over the Wisconsin border camping for the night, and this was back before cell phones were common. My sister was injured because of negligence by the bus driver. Both accidents also had alcohol as a mitigating factor, too.

Happy 4th July everyone.

We went out for a excursion this morning. I've eaten something that doesn't agree with me. Going to lie down and I hope I don't up chuck!
