Good morning!

Just thought I'd check in from Gatlinburg. We've got internet service this trip. This hotel doesn't have it but sometimes we can pick it up from other places and this time around we were able to connect right in.

Thanks! So far we are. I just needed some relaxation!! Yesterday we went for a nice dinner, checked in at the hotel and relaxed, then went to the Aquarium and then to TGIFridays. We got back to hotel around 1 a.m. and just after we got in it started to storm. We have a huge window that overlooks the street so we opened the curtains and watched the lightening show!

Not much time to post-so just a quick litlle something

July 4th was not a good day-at 0730am DSIL -one with CA-fell in the tub getting out and broke her femur that has the bone CA in it-since then it's been living %#**

ER-4 hrs

Back to my house for 3 days-pain, pain and more pain

back to MD-Admitted for surgery-surgery delayed and back on for Thurs-

Please say a pray fro her-she needs all the help she can get to get thru this. I'll try and post more later-Hope Everyone else is doing OK-not much time to read back-see you later

Oh my goodness Kim. I am so sorry!

I will be keeping her (and all of your family) in my thoughts and prayers!

Today we are going to take a drive to Douglas Lake (about 20 miles from here) and Cherokee Lake (about 40 miles from here). And then we're going to hit Bass Pro Shops.

Thanks Everyone! It's been a real challenge this past week-but she's in the hospital now getting the right kind of pain meds until the surgery tomm-so life is getting back to normal

and today's Kyle's 15th Birthday and Catie and I got him his present yesterday and while we were at Circuit City- we found Rock Band on sale for 60.00 off!!!

So I splurged and got it too!!!! I think He's going to be really surprised since at a $160.00 it was not going to happen!!!

Plus we got him a drawing tablet for the computer since he's really into drawing animation and pretty good at it-and he's been whinning about not having one for months already!!!

so it's going to be a better day today!!!!

so a little more on the story.....

at the ED on Friday- they told us they were calling it a fracture to the femur right above the knee-but stable-"just a crack" but we needed a CT on Mon-OK fine

so the pain she was in was amazing!! any movement and she would cringe and cry out in extreme pain-it took 2 people to get her in/out of our recliner and watching her use her crutches to get to the BR was terrible

so come Monday-I made her an appt with the ortho MD and he took 2 minutes to look at her xrays done in the ER to know that it was an UNSTABLE femur fracture and not a crack!!!!

no wonder she was in so much pain the bones moving against each other with any movement!!!

So now I have to reload her in my Jeep cherokee and get her to the hospital-once there I had to beg the ED to help me get her onto a stretcher and get her to registration-it was not a pretty picture-plus I worked most of the night and only slept 2 hrs!

Now She's from NC and has insurance from the hospital she works for-well it a wee bit out of network(I guess anywhere but the hospital she works at is out of network) here in Atl-and now she's facing a HUGE decision-pay 40% here or ride home for 4hrs and pay only 20% there-she's staying here the pain and the thought of the 4hr ride was too much to even think about!!

So it's going to be another BIG expense for them-I was talking to DH-maybe they can arrange a fund raiser back at her home to help her out with this latest bill!-I hope so-they just can't afford anything more right now!

SO facing this BIG Hosp Bill-she was hoping to get the surgery done and get home as soon as possible!

But as it's been going lately the day of surgery they drew a bleeding time for her (she has a in-planted med port and takes blood thinners to prevent a clot) well.....

Her bleeding time was too high for surgery-so it had to be postponed until Thurs-more stress more hosp bill and now her Husband is here-and missing work-it's just been really stressful!!!!

So that's the nightmare my lifes been lately-sorry to vent a little-it's been a little unreal

so I hope Everyone else here in the LTP land is doing well!

OK-I'm going to go do some more cleaning-more family coming into town tonight and this house is showing stress of having so many people living in it lately-plus my grocery bill is outragous!!!!
