time is really slow today......


well its either that or I am avoiding what I have to do .....

Not much to do today-dinner is cooking and...

-My Dad doesn't like the heat so the Zoo is out

-I wanted to drive them around the town-but nope they don't want to(can't blame them for that one)

so We're just sitting around today-sometimes it's good to be lazy I guess

I'm finally starting to get out of my grumpy mood.

Boss and I really had it out yesterday - maybe that's what made me feel a little better. They've changed a lot of our audit procedures and as a result we have to run to the bank a lot more. There are six of us managers that are supposed to go but I end up going about 75% of the time. I kept track of my mileage for May and hit him up with that yesterday. It was 140 miles for the month. He told me there was no policy for that type of reimbursement and I was already "well compensated" because I was "on the clock" whenever I went. Well, from there it went. He and I have squabbled before but never like this. Finally, I just let it drop and didn't say another word about it for about two hours. Then he came to me and asked me how many miles to the gallon I got and I told him and he walked away. Then he came back to me and handed me a little piece of paper that said, "15 trips = 1 hour." I looked at him and he said, "just keep track of your trips and for every fifteen trips I'll give you an extra hour off paid." It may sound cheap, and it may sound petty, but there are days that I make 3 trips to the stupid bank. It's not only a pain in the butt to do but it's three and a half miles round trip each time so it does really add up. And I wouldn't mind it as much if between six of us managers I was doing 1/6th of the trips. Boss NEVER goes! So as I was leaving yesterday I thanked him again and he said that he still doesn't really agree with me but he does see my point of view and he would hate to lose me over something like this!

I really should be getting stuff packed to head out. We're going over to Gatlinburg for a few days. We'll be back home Friday, which is DH's birthday. (Which is also Friday the 13th! Coincidence??? I think not! )

So where are you going-did I miss something again

Gatlinburg. I'm not sure if I mentioned it here or not. We made the reservations when DH and I went on our anniversary trip. Thought we might need a getaway after all the graduation stuff. Boy, is that true. Maybe the trip will take the place of the nervous breakdown I keep postponing!

Looks like my Parents are heading out today/tonight back to the rainy State of WI-we sure could use some of that rain here

Sorry Kathy, sounds like a day from hell

It was!

Yesterday wasn't a whole lot better! With the deal with the boss at work. Then after work I spent 3 hours between the laundromat at the car wash.

The dryer guy - and his boss - came out again yesterday. They said the dryer is fine, that we've got a bad main breaker. They said that it is possible when we had the dryer problem last week it was bad enough to cause damage to the breaker. So, we've got an electrician coming out Tuesday. The electrician told DH on the phone that it's safe to use the dryer but not to have much else on. Oh great - now I live on Green Acres!

It's my 16th wedding anniversary

I totally get the bank/gas thing you were talking about
we have to drive 9 miles on way to the bank twice a day
and we are suppose to take turns but that never happens there
are only a few of us that ever go and they don't pay any extra here either.
