I actually bought a couple of Pandora charms about a month ago. They were on special (30% off) and I picked a couple or four gold charms up.

I've decided, in sympathy with the European Austerity mood, to wrap two of them up...one for Mother's Day and the other for my birthday.

I think I'd really like a solid top custom made guitar. But they are at least $1500...and it is a hard choice between the guitar and a new lens.

Nope...Inflation hasn't raised what I get from the parents (beyond the $100 in the card) because they still pay for the 'family' holidays...

And my friends and I...our birthday gift budgets are around $30 a piece into group presents and they keep giving me stuff I don't want And yes I have actually TOLD them what I'm wanting before and after...

Who am I to talk? My older brother and SiL never listen to me; no matter how much I stress the gift card!

That's nice of your parents to pay for the 'family' holidays....but it's a double edged sword. I can see why it is hard to go and meet DBF separately.

Yep...double edged sword. But there is no way to say thanks but....without being ungrateful. And yes I do want to go to these places. I just want to still have time to go visit other places as well.
That trip in Feb had nightmares and amazing times....but was the BEST life experience I've had. I needed to do it for myself if not anything else.

ANYWAY....yeah I might mine my friends to see what they're thinking this time round

I'm hoping my gifts from Andy are slightly more...thought through...than some of the Christmas gifts. If you haven't seen the movie....don't send a Lotso the bear to someone

My DS BEFORE the movie came out. He didn't know what to do with Lotso....

...sadly, he gave Lotso a hug!

I heard as kids started seeing the movie, they were running scared from him.

After I told Andy off I cooled off and Lotso is now just the original bear....not the "movie version"
But he currently resides in a box stinking of strawberries.

yes. Still haven't managed to get him to take a flippin photo of it to show her the final result but I think so.
Very hard to read that.
I'd spent so much time trying to get it he didn't have 'much' to open for Christmas. So I'm not sure if he had that disappointment in the background???
But when we went onto video skype to do 'live' opening I saw his reaction and I think he was happy.
He can be very hard to read.
