Last Resort Stay @ a All Star Resort

Typically, we stay @ Port Orleans Riverside or French Quarter, and next year money will be a little tight so I was considering trying one of the All Star Resorts and would like opinions on which All Star you like, and why that one in particular. I believe the the price variance is at least worth a try. Downgrading from the moderate to value is substantial price difference and I believe would not be close to as tight if we were to maintain the moderate resort compared to the value. Thanks for any suggestions and guidance.

I have stayed at All Star Music every year since 2009, twice in 2013. I am content with a pool with no slide. I don't need a fancy vestibule in the hotel. My time is spent at the parks and then home to ASMu to sleep. What you need to do is look at both POR or FQ and then the All Stars and say to yourself, I can do without A, B and C. Remember, you are paying less so you will get less. My rooms have always been clean and the service is still Disney Magic. I know friends who will not stay at an All Star because they expect more from their hotel of choice. You need to decide if it is worth the extra money to have that pool slide or to have a coffee pot in your room. Me, I enjoy the walk up to the restaurant to get my coffee while the wife is in the shower and having a pleasant conversation with someone who is enjoying the morning as I am.

Agree with the PP. Although the Poly is my favorite for the theming, we have stayed at the All Stars many times and never been disappointed. The rooms are fine, the food courts great, and the busses are not all that bad. Try it - you'll like it! Good luck.

I'd opt for POP over any of the All Star resorts personally.

I've stayed at AS Movies and AS Sports but not AS Music.
Oddly enough for myself I'd recommend Sports over Movies.
Sports was quieter in general and especially when trying to sleep.
I feel like there are more families with toddlers at AS Movies due to the theme and we had some very loud neighbors over Labor Day weekend who's toddler cried every night when they got back in the room after midnight.

We flip flop. Some trips we are all about park time. These trips we stay ASMu. My other half is a musician by day, so being surrounded by the music themeing is added bonus. We have even stayed at ASMu during construction. Didn't bother us, walk from the bus to room and from the room to the bus. We filled mugs at the coffee station on our way out in the AM. Didn't use the pool but did drink at the pool bar one night. Low key but pleasant. This trip we are staying at CSR, during construction, we will have 1 solid day we are not in the parks so we can use the pool or venture our to DS and other resorts. This single day is why I decided to go Moderate instead of Value. I want to see if I feel the $$ is worth it before a longer stay later in 2018.

We are CA locals so stay DLH GCH and PPH, we tend to feel like staying on property here can be overrated for the amount of time we spend in the room. But earlier this year we did a stay for a week with NO park days. We just hung out at DLH and GCH each day and it was glorious! We did also work from the hotel room so it was nice to be in a more luxurious room. So in that case I would have been bummed if I was staying Value.

For us it boils down to usage, will we use all the amenities of a Mod/Deluxe ? If not, Value it is.

We are almost locals (1hr away depending on traffic). When we want a quick weekend away we will stay at ASMusic.
It usually is the less expensive then the other AS. It has a small layout and so very Quite, especially if you stay in the Broadway section. It is very clean and the staff is always super nice. The buses have never been an issue. The only concern is the bathroom is tight and I travel with 2 teenage girls and my DH. I do not think I would stay here with them here longer then a weekend.

We have thoroughly enjoyed our stays at all 3 All Stars with Sports being our favorite. Mainly because we're a sports loving family.

Really like the All Stars and have stayed at all 3. Movies is our favorite it is the smallest of the 3. Not fond of Music as I didn't like the layout of the resort. We spend all of our time at the parks and only use the resort to sleep. As others have said only you can decide what is more important to you.

I've stayed at all three resorts, with my personal favorite being Movies for the theming. The Toy Story section is adorable. We're staying at Music this time around for free dining-by going with Music instead of Movies we had $600 knocked off the reservation plus free food. But like I just said, Movies is our personal favorite.

We don't spend much time at the resort, so Moderate/Deluxe would just be a waste of money for us. Sleep and shower.

I've stayed at Sports and Movies. We liked Movies better, but we had preferred room there. It seemed quieter, but maybe it was the time of year? It was May; stayed at Sports in November.

We have stayed at Movies most recently ( 2015) and enjoyed it. I have two little boys so the over the top Toy Story theming was a huge hit. The rooms are always clean and the food court is more then adequate since we saved our TS credits for the parks or Chef Mickey. The pool is fine as well. We have stayed at Pop and enjoyed it as adult but the theme would have been lost on our kids. We are staying in the Pirate room at CBR next time because we will be hanging around the resort more and not doing the parks ( pre cruise). I would not hesitate to do a Value again if it fit the budget better.

I've stayed at All Stars three times including this May at All Star Music. First, if you can swing Pop, I don't find a lot of difference in it and a moderate, but I do feel the All Stars are starting to show their age. I preferred All Star Sports to Music for being first on the bus and it always felt smaller and more compact.

The price difference with a room only discount between a moderate and a value would not be a big enough factor for me to book a value.

A moderate with a nice discount is under 200 a night.

PoP > AoA > The Rest to answer your question though. Unless your talking suites then AoA > ASM > the rest.
