That is what my best friend from college said. She was thinking of leaving Denver, but we are so isolated and her family is scattered from the east coast to the midwest, she didn't want to move here. She has since gotten married and settled down.

Yes, most our family lives on Maui, actually in about a two mile radius from our house...we like it. We have some family that lives a little farther away too. My DMIL and DFIL live really close, but we get along and we have mutual respect for each other so it works out. I have some family that lives on other islands, like one of my sisters, but we usually see her and her family a few times each year. We used to go visit her island more often when my grandmother was alive and living with my dad's sister, but she passed away in January....it was her time, so I am happy she is in peace.

The cost to fly inter-island has gone up and lately, unless there is a family function we don't feel it is worth it to travel. A round trip can cost $150 per person or more and to go to California can sometimes be $200-$300, so we rather save up and see Mickey.

DH did on his way home from work so i wouldn't have to deal with going out in the damp cold weather with a headache

He seemed much better this morning. He had just a sort of dry cough. I took him to school. DS and DD missed the second week of school being sick, I think on the first week of preschool everyone shared germs , so since he was feeling better I dropped him off so he wouldn't miss school. They are really nice at the preschool and I told them if he gets worse or starts to wheeze or anything else they could call me and I would pick him up. It was a hectic morning, but now I am at work so I can rest and DIS .

Wish I could stay and play but time to start thinking about dinner and amke sure everyone has everything ready to go back to school tomorrow they had today off because of Columbus day
