Sure is a BIG committment! Do you mind if I ask if you have a personal interest since it's for Breast Cancer? (Hope you don't mind the question.) One of my best friends is a breast cancer survivor!

No I don't mind. It is something that has always been near and dear to me. So far (knocking on wood) I have not had to deal with BC in my family. I am walking to raise money and awareness to find a curse and fight BC. I do not want my DD it even have to know what it is. Or ever be affected by it.

During the months that I have been training I have met some amazing women who are not even 40 year old yet who are fighting this disease.

You guys will never believe that my MOm did last night

So, what did she do!!???

Not good-She just signed out of work and was about to leave the building and.........Tripped on the rug in front of the door and slammed head first into the glass door

Knocked herself out and has one heck of a concussion and bruises everywhere-she's lucky though-she could of broke her neck!!!

Holy Cow. Is she okay?

My friend was just 40 when she was diagnosed! She's been cancer free for about ten years now!

You are a very special person to be going through all this training for this and doing all this!

My friend in Fort Worth-TX did this last year(her sister died of BC only 37) and she had a great time-she's always doing something -smaller walks now

Kathy - It is amazing stories like your friend being a survivor that keeps me going. I can walk with blisters if they can handle Radiation and Chemo. A blister is nothing compared to what they have to deal with.

Same here-I have to head out to the Mall (needed to for 2weeks now) and dread going!!!!

I normally love to shop. I don't know what is wrong with me today.

Thanks for your concern-she is really lucky-if she would of hit the other side of her head she would of been in serious trouble-She had a brain tumor removed there about 12yrs ago-so that side is fragile-but she's just really sore right now-her back and neck hurt a lot -a little whiplash I think
