We only emptied the tank once I think. And it didn't smell at all.
We used a hose and drained it that way.

Hmmm-I better wait awhile before I bring another animal in the house though-don't need DH to freak out-maybe I'll wait til we move to Atlanta in June and then set up a nice little tank!!!!
