This is an extreme case...but I was thinking that "free" sunset may cost you BIG. This is the story of my DBil (DH's Sis's DH):
Bought a new, huge, extended, monster, diesel truck...to pull a boat.
Ordered a CUSTOM deep fishing boat.
Bought a trailer to transport said boat.
Made changes to order during the manufactoring of boat.
Picked up boat.
Took bought out 3 or 4 times (one of which was with the family and was a horrible experience...unlike how he said this boat would improve "family time")
Sold boat less than a year from picking up boat....because he wants a BIGGER boat.
Keeps looking around at boats, almost bought one last week but deal feel thru.
Talks about getting a BIGGER truck to pull BIGGER boat (don't know how a truck could be bigger...maybe a semi?)
Currently building a bigger house w/ a huge boat garage to house propsed boat with a bigger car garage to fit the truck (if they need to park the truck in their garage, like when they are on vacation, they need to move everything in the garage including their washer and dryer and then you can't get in/out of the cars...he must climb out of the driver window after parking)
Bought a third car (used SUV) to drive around since he doesn't want to park the truck at work...firgure in cost of vehicle, insurance, regestration, etc.
yep.....that "free sunset" is pretty expensive....
