Hi everyone!

Liz called and left me a message around 2:00. She said that they did a CT scan on G earlier today and decided that they needed to drain the fluid. They were going to insert a "chest cavity tube." She said they were going to do this around 3. He was going to have to be completely sedated and then they would drain what they could and then insert a tube. She said that they told her he would have to stay in the hospital for at least five more days!! I hope I got all the info right. She asked me to let you all know what was going on and she said thanks to everyone for the cards. He has them hanging on his wall in his hospital room.

I just got home from the hospital. Whew, what a long day. My friend's surgery was scheduled for 9:15. When I got there they had changed it to 10:15. I sat with her and her husband and they never came to get her until 11:15. Her husband and I had lunch in the cafeteria and then went to the waiting room. At 12:30 her doctor came into the waiting room to talk to the family of another patient. As he was leaving he told my friend's husband that they were running behind and she was next. So then about 1:45 the doctor came back to the waiting room to tell us all went well and that she was in recovery. She got into her room around 3:00.

She was still very groggy but she said that she was just so glad it was over.

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers today!

Just sent off a bunch of cards to G

it is cool that the hospital prints them out and he will actually get a "real" copy
how did you do that???

I hope they put in a smaller Chest Tube it's called a Blitt-and it's much more comfortable than a regular Chest Tube-either way I pray that this is all it will take and he can get onto healing soon :wizard:
