Kathy = It sure sounds like you are having a good time. How is DH holding up at home?

DH is doing pretty well being Mr. Mom. It's been a little bit of a challenge on the days that he has had to work, he had to get the two DSs off to school then he went in to work late and came home early. He took tomorrow off so he'll be with the boys all day.

Our last day at the beach was a little different than expected.

We got up at 6:00 and walked on the beach at sunrise. It was really nice. I fixed a breakfast casserole and had the boys and chaperones in our room for breakfast. All the kids went swimming and the other chaperones watched them so I took a nap!

We ordered pizza for lunch and I went to pick it up and then we ate by the pool. After lunch the kids swam for a little longer. One of the boys (whose dad is a chaperone) lost his glasses in the surf this morning so I took him and his dad to the eye doctor to get new glasses.

When we got back we were to go to a museum and the sand dunes. The eighth grade teacher had pulled a muscle in her side/hip and she wanted to rest so I stayed at the hotel with her and the others went to the museum and the sand dunes.

Well, add another weird experience to today. We're having a terrible storm right now! Lots of thunder and lightening. And suddenly we've got smoke and a smoldering smell in our room as I was typing my last post.

Tried not to panic, sent the boys to the room next door to have their chaperone come over but he had gone to one of the other rooms so instead all four boys from that room came running over. Sent them back out and call the woman that is our fire marshall and told her I needed her to come to our room. By then there was no smoke but there was a smell. Called the front desk while waiting and she said she was the only one in the hotel and didn't know what to do!!! Oh, that's just great!

Three of the chaperones got here, (the one dad, the one that is the fire marshall and one of the moms that didn't know what was going on but the kids sent her down 'cause she's a nurse ), we looked around and couldn't find anything. Front desk clerk came up and said to call if we smelled it again and she would just call the fire department out.

Finally, the other chaperones left and my DS and the other boy in our room came back to the room. The other boy said that he had gotten cold and turned the heat on without saying anything. Evidently the heat has not been on in the room for a while and we think that was the smell! Knowing that makes me feel a whole lot better that there isn't something smoldering in the walls tonight!

And, on top of all this other stuff today, DD called at 3:00 and was having a friend take her to the ER 'cause she was practically doubled over in pain. She had some pain in her back and side last week but got through it and never went to a doctor. But it came back this afternoon really bad. Turns out she's got a bladder infection and a kidney infection. They gave her two prescriptions and she didn't have her insurance card so I had to go to Walgreens here and give them our insurance card for her to get her prescriptions there!

What a day!

But it was still a nice day overall!

The bus leaves tomorrow morning at 6:30! If the weather clears by morning most of the kids want one last sunrise walk on the beach so we're all getting up early to load the bus and my van and then we're walking on the beach at 5:45!!!!

I'm going to get off here and get packed up. Tonight's not the night to be on the computer anyway with this storm. This is the worst thunderstorm that I've been in for quite a while!

I will check in with you guys tomorrow night when I get home!!!

Today has almost become funny! Now our toilet has backed up and I had to send DS down to the office for a plunger! And, yes, this is a nice hotel!

We had an experience like that... our backed up and we were on our way out the door to visit some friends and we called to the desk and told them....it was fixed when we got back and they left us the plunger... LOL... ALSO .. about 2 weeks after that we got $70 in coupons for that hotel.

DS went down to the front desk and got a plunger so I took care of it! We got a great rate for the class so I doubt we'll get any coupons this time.

Right now I'm eating leftover lobster! It is sooooo good. We took the kids to a seafood restaurant tonight. Two of the boys split this great bid broiled seafood platter and they had leftover shrimp and lobster so they brought it back to the hotel and then decided that they really didn't want the leftovers! I jumped at the leftovers and they're soooo good.

Once again I'm going to say goodnight....but this time for real! Time to get some sleep. The storm has eased up a little but there's a lot of lightening and it should be neat to watch while I'm falling asleep!

The day is here -Our House goes on the market this afternoon,and I'm no where close to being ready for the Open House!!! At least I have til next weekend to get ready for it-I hope I can finish all I have left to do
