No, I don't think the pics would convince my husband. And as pretty as it is I'd miss the mountains too much!
oh come on.. we have mountians a few hours away!!!

I know I've told you guys many times about my friend's daughter who has leukemia. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. She is going to be undergoing a bone marrow transplant soon.

If you have a minute, please read the latest journal entry:

http://www.caringbridge.org/fl/emilylester/

It's unbelievable what she is going through and what so many other kids go through! Talk about an inspiration! I will never complain when my kids have a cold again! A cold seems so trivial!

Hey Kathy!!!

You were telling me last week that you had raccoons in your attic before. Did they poop alot in there and did you need to clean it out real good. Kevin read that your attic becomes a bio-hazard after a raccoon is in it. Is this true, or this a company just trying to sell their services :confused3 . I'm sure there's poop up there, but enough to hire a company :confused3

You have talked about her before on the Fireman Wife thread and I remember reading from the website - she is such a pretty girl!!!

I can't put into words how sad I am for your friends daughter and the family :guilty: . I will absolutly keep this sweet girl in my prayers for a successful surgery and for the family too. Please keep us updated on her condition.

I would love to learn how to go skydiving, but I'm scared I would be the one with the sad face :)

When I was reading your post on the other thread about all you're going through I had to laugh! We're definitely different! :lmao: You are the city mouse and I'm the country mouse! :lmao: Here we get stuff like that in our basements and attics all the time. And I don't think we even have companies around here that will come take care of them. We have to handle them ourselves! Traps work well, but I can just picture my husband heading up to the attic with a stick to take care of the problem! :lmao:

On a serious note, though, yes they do make a mess and you'll want to clean up really well after they're up there but I wouldn't hire someone to do it. Just wear some gloves (and maybe one of those dust masks if your attic doesn't have good ventilation) and clean up what they've left. Rats are worse because they actually climb in and out and on everything leaving dropping and urine wherever they go. Raccoons tend to stay on things and are usually just looking for a warm home, not looking for whatever they can nibble on.

She has been in St. Jude's for about ten days now and she is now in isolation in preparation for the bone marrow transplant. Her mom's latest post was about the isolation room and how the transplant will be done. It's amazing! I can't check on her site anymore (which I do daily) without crying!

Sounds like your DH does a better job getting things out of the house than the company we paid $350.00 for - if we lived closer I'd ask him to come over and get this thing out of here!!!!!

Thanks for letting me know I can clean the attic myself - are raccoons droppings big or little (a gross morning topic, but I need to know what to look for).

Have to run! I just looked at the clock! I'm gonna be late getting A.J. to school!

Nice chatting. See you guys later!

It's great how the hospital has the parent room next to her room so they can be with her without physically be next to her. I just can't imagine the fear going through Emily's (that's her name right?) mind right now. I've always heard that children can be so much stronger than their parents. I hope that Emily is confident with her doctors and is not to nervous - she is someone I feel I can't pray enough for.
