I had a real priveledge on the way to taking A.J. to school this morning...

Our National Guard unit has been called to duty and they were leaving town this morning. So they were getting an escort from town to the TN line. There are only two "major" intersections between our house and DSs school. Just as we were pulling up to the first intersection a State Trooper pulled into the middle of the intersection and stopped all traffic. I was the first vehicle at the intersection. So A.J. and I were lucky enough to be able to wave to the buses with, as A.J. calls them, the "foldiers!" Another big priveledge for our family....DH was leading the procession in his patrol car with lights and siren on! :)

For the rest of the way to school A.J. kept asking me if I was okay, and why I was crying. I just told him that I was crying for the soldiers and their families and explained to him how lucky we are!

Wow. You brought a tear to my eyes. I am so glad you guys got to wave to and make them feel loved.

I ended up with Arby's Chicken sandwich. It was so so. I am not a big fan of whatever that yellow looking sauce was that was on it. :scared:

Lyn - how is your DD's eye? Is it pink eye?

And how is your DH doing with the meds now?

no, it wasn't pink eye :cool1: DH wasn't feeling 100% in the morning and I guess he didn't wash her face before dropping her off at school (I left really early to make it to the store before work)...so it was just yuckies in there....but I will still have the doc look at it today.

DH is doing better. He said this is the BEST his nose system has been in weeks :cool1: so hopefully it was just an infection and all the swelling will go away. He thinks that maybe the saline solution he used on his nose is what caused the throat thing :confused3 so last night he sat up for a while after using the solution instead of going to bed right away...seemed to help. I am thinking positive today :teeth: and my DS is doing well too.

Yesturday, in an afternoon meeting, someone asked me what was wrong since I looked so "washed out" ...yeh, thanks buddy...no soup for you! :lmao:
