I had a real priveledge on the way to taking A.J. to school this morning...
Our National Guard unit has been called to duty and they were leaving town this morning. So they were getting an escort from town to the TN line. There are only two "major" intersections between our house and DSs school. Just as we were pulling up to the first intersection a State Trooper pulled into the middle of the intersection and stopped all traffic. I was the first vehicle at the intersection. So A.J. and I were lucky enough to be able to wave to the buses with, as A.J. calls them, the "foldiers!" Another big priveledge for our family....DH was leading the procession in his patrol car with lights and siren on!
For the rest of the way to school A.J. kept asking me if I was okay, and why I was crying. I just told him that I was crying for the soldiers and their families and explained to him how lucky we are!
