I understand about not wanting to join DVC being in HI and all.... but I don't think renting is too bad. I've rented out twice before and it worked out good. I would only rent from DVC if you want a deluxe resort or if you just want a hotel room, stick with ASM.

as far as if I have any points to rent ... it depends on how many you need

Oh no, I am on the phone with my DSIL and she is trying to convinence me to go with them (and DMIL and DFIL) to either an Alskan Cruise, a Disney Cruise, DL in October or WDW in October when the kids have off from school. I told her to call her brother, he's at home

Oh no, I don't think I am ready for a cruise yet...I looks really nice, but I am overly paranoid....I would worry about the railings and about the kids not being able to swim yet I told her that maybe DL or WDW would be o.k. with me if I could save up enough and get some free airline tickets...but that DH and I already decided to use our tax return (if we get one) towards our house....so that is gone
