I live in Arkansas, and it has been a VERY rainy summer here. It has been raining almost everyday for what seems like the last 3 weeks.
Last Thursday night, my DH ran DD and I home after the Jr. High football game. It was an away game. DH dropped DD and I off, unloaded two coolers from our SUV (I was the after game gatorade mom that night), and DH headed back to the school to meet the bus to pick up DS.
I unloaded the unused drinks and started to wheel the cooler across the garage to take it to the backyard to dump the ice when a wiggle caught my eye.
I looked over and there was a copperhead in my garage!
In my heart, I wanted to scream and run inside my house, never to go into the garage again. However the idea of that snake being in my garage, near me, and near my children kept me from running in.
So like any good Southern women, I grabbed a shovel and a hoe and whacked that snake.
I held the shovel on him til DH drove up.
Then I screamed and let him take over and I ran inside and cried.
I'm telling you a poisonous snake is NOT your friend.
They are VERY dangerous.
