Last Night at WDW...Fantasmic or Illuminations?

For our last night at WDW...I'm sad already...I'm trying to decide between Fantasmic or Illuminations. I've never seen either one and want to do the most spectacular our last night there. I know they are both incredible, but I think I've read one is just a little more "last night worthy" than the other.

I love them both, but if I could only do one, I would pick Illuminations. It's so moving and beautiful, everyone in my house loves it.

In the past I might have told you to see Illuminations but the new show, Reflections of Earth, while nice just isn't up to previous standards IMHO.

Go to Fantasmic, its a great show and a thrilling ending to your trip.

Do you have kids coming with?

If so, DEFINITELY Fantasmic.

Illuminations is nowhere near as interesting, IMO.

IllumiNations, definitely. I like Fantasmic, but as far as "magic" goes, I get goosebumps with Illum every time!

While I agree with DisneyPete that Reflections of Earth is not as good as the previous version of Illuminations I would still pick it over Fantasmic. Seeing as how you've never seen Illuminations you don't have anything to compare it to anyway and it is still a fantastic show, I just liked the other one better. I would choose Illuminations over Fantasmic any day!

We love both shows, but for a last night, I would definetly pick Illuminations. As said above it is so moving and beautiful. We have been disappointed by fantasmic in the past too, the first time we went to see it the show broke down 10 min. before the finale, after waiting an hour and a half to see it, this was very disappointing. If you do choose fantasmic, be sure to try and get the dinner package where you do not have to arrive so early to get a good seat.

I vote for Fantasmic! any day!! The music itself gives me goosebumps listening to it. I liked Illuminations, but for the last night I would want something really memorable and "Disney".

I think the outcome of this will be about 50/50.

They are both good, I would absolutley pick Fantasmic!!

I think Illuminations is a better show. I think the thing I hate most about Fantasmic is sitting in that claustrophobic amphitheatre waiting for the show to begin. The last time we were there we waited about 45 mins only to have the show cancelled

I love Fantasmic and Illuminations. I would say Fantasmic, though. Gotta love Sorceror Mickey!

For your last night, I'd choose "Wishes"!!! I don't think Illuminations or Fantasmic are as special.

Of those two, if you have kids, they would probably like Fantasmic. If you're adults, I'd choose Illuminations. There's also something special about taking your time walking out around World Showcase after the show. Very pretty.

Why not do both shows? Fantasmic starts at 7. You can see that show and walk over to Epcot via the BW and be there in plenty of time for Illuminations. It is your last night, you shouldn't have to choose.

I'd have to vote for Illuminations as well. Fantasmic might be better if you have kids but it has always felt a little crowded to me. I've also heard that you have to line up well before the show starts ... I can't confirm this since I've always gone with the dining package.

Now why didn't I think of that? Illuminations doesn't start till 9:30 in December, so it would easily be doable.

We always do wishes on our last night, but Illuminations would be my second choice for a closing act.

But I agree doing both fantasmic and Illuminations sounds like a plan!
