We weren't planning to go at all this year and save up more money for 2008 but a friend has booked and it has us all in need of Disney. Has anyone left it really late before booking - what's the latest? We're off all summer holidays and are thinking about literally looking for a deal and if we think it's a good one, just going on a whim?????

Thanks everyone!!!

We have found it hit and miss for last minute Florida bargains, The times we have seen late bargains we have already booked in advance, We have done 2 last minute flights, 1 in August there was nothing available ended up paying just over £500 each with TCD 2 days before we flew, Other time was a Xmas day booked 2 days before again, £499 each. Both times no package deal around.
Good luck in school hols its not easy.

If you stay off site you will probably have better luck.We oretended last year in july that we wanted to go in 5 dyas time -I think it was around the 4th august and there were quite a few deals.Around £900 for the 3 of us but that was staying on I-Drive and flying with first choice. There were dearere ones as well.If you don't mind where you stay and are using it just for a base you will find something. How many of you are going?Have a look on broadway travel, they have good last min offers.:thumbsup2

Had a quick look-all stars going 31/7 for 2adults 2 children£2991
courtyard by marriot LBV £2551
Howard Johnson I-Drive £2463.

Will probably come down the longer you leave it but you risk not getting a decent flight.

have done it in past and left until 2 weeks before and got £99 flights,a month before £199.Back then you could do a flydrive and drive around and find a room, nowadays you have to give a room/address for imagration.
Have booked an accomadation/flight (no flydrives available)late and not gone to accomodation just gone to disney.
Just a tip when you phone TCD they ask for your postcode and that brings up all the info on when you have rung then and what they have offered you so they can tell if you are searching for cheap flights and are less likely to offer unless there on teletext.Teletexet page 222 is a good place to look for cheap flights(internet has gone down IMHO on flights) middle of week.Be warned lots of pages and you might not get the DW of it

If you can pick up last minute flights you won't have a problem getting accommodation - there are loads of condos, townhomes and villas so there is sure to be something to suit you:goodvibes We find that as we have to fly from Belfast you don't get the good deals in the school holidays so much - I would imagine the mainland has a lot more to offer - good luck:thumbsup2
