Last Minute Weekend Trip with Family

I just recently found out I will be in Orlando for a work conference and thought it would be fun to bring DH, DD (7) and DS (23 months) to WDW for the weekend. They will be coming in on Friday and we will leave on Monday. Would you recommend trying to stay on site at this point or just get a hotel off site and drive? I will have a rental car for work and we are just planning on going to Magic Kingdom so not a lot of running. Thoughts??

If you can get an onsite hotel it will be much easier for all of you..plus you can take advantage of magical express for them to/from airport, EMH, and Fast Pass Plus earlier than offsite

Our family always prefers to stay at Disney hotels (and we drive).

I would say look into that first - but you are definitely in a position where you don't have to stress about it. If you can't find anything available or in budget, then you know you can still get to and enjoy the parks from somewhere else.
