Last Minute Week Away?

It might be possible for us to sneak a week away from Sunday 25th May. It can only be this day for a week so I am really restricted but wondered if anyone has any good sites or suggestions for seeing what is available in perhaps one of the Canary Islands, or Spain/Portugal/Ballearics ?
4 Adults from any London/East Anglian Airport.
Dont mind if it's a Villa/Appartment/Hotel, SC/B&B/HB

There is loads of websites and I just thought maybe someone might have one they have used before and could recommend.

I'm rubbish at looking for stuff like this but I heard that the Teletext site is always good for deals.

This might be an occasion when a visit to a travel agent can get a good deal? Although each will push their own 'in house' product if you go to a couple of different travel agents you should get a fairly good range of late deals.

I think you may be right Karen - I'll try and get to a shop and see what is on offer, they had some great deals on the local Radio the other day.............and I'll check out Teletext too.

Knowing my luck, now I've got the go ahead to book, we wont be able to find anything.

I was wondering about perhaps looking for a Villa but really dont know any.

Janice - if you want to look for villas, the holiday classifieds at the back of the Saturday edition of Daily Mail/Mail on Sunday often have villa websites.

Have you looked a www.jamesvillas.co.uk they have some quite good late availability that includes flight to various European destinations, not sure if a Sunday is a regular start day for them though.

LOL Joe - I would book in a Nano Second, the problem would be getting DH to agree. He wouldnt be keen to make that long journey just for a week and there is no way we can squeeze any longer, nice thought though!

Thanks for the link NWR - I looked at James and they dont have flights out on Sundays......we are really restricted to that day as we are at a wedding on the Saturday, and the following Monday DH has a college course starting - so it's basically then, or never!! LOL

Still searching.......have a couple of possibilities from Valerie and Shirley's sites that look promising

Try The Travel Club of Upminster phone no. 01708 225000 or www.travelclub.org.uk (no online booking though)

They fly to the Algarve on Sunday's from both Gatwick and Stansted, however, they are very flexible and will arrange local flights for you if they can.

They are a small private company and I have used them a lot.
They are very good but not the cheapest.

When we visited The Algarve last year we booked our own flights (much, much cheaper!) and rented a villa from www.therealalgarve.com

The owner of the company is extremely friendly and has lots of different villas available. Plus, she runs it from home so you can ring her at most times. The villa we rented from her was also advertised on 3 or 4 other companny's websites for much more than the price she charged.

Worth at try, although I know villas in The Algarve do book up fairly far in advance.
