Last minute waitlist

We just booked a trip in 18 days. It was a spur of the moment thing for a last minute weekend trip. We were able to book at SSR!

I thought I might put in a waitlist to see if we could get something else (I know it is a long shot and we'll be fine if we stay at SSR). Where do you think we'd have the best chances? OKW? AKV?

At this point, you just never know. If it were me, since I had something booked, I'd just put in a waitlist for the 2 resorts / booking categories, I most wanted to try. Then it would just be up to the pixie dust and if it's meant to be, it happens.

Remember that whatever you waitlist for should cost the same or more than the reservation you already have. If it costs less and comes through, the points will go into holding and might expire before you could use them. Holding points can't be used to book more than 60 days in advance of arrival.

I booked SSR yesterday and put in two waitlists. This morning I checked and SSR was the only thing available, I checked 2 hours later and AKV Jambo house was available so I grabbed it!! It meant 4 points going into holding but we'd much rather be at AKV so I don't mind losing 4 points.

We waitlisted BCV and Poly, I know there is basically no chance but for free why not at least try. AKV is one of our favorite resorts so we were thrilled to be able to get it at such a late date!
