Last minute trips - Thanksgiving out!!!!

The only thing bad about DVC you need to plan ahead -- no last minute trip. My uncle & cousins are going to be at Disney (Wilderness Lodge) for Thanksgigving & week after.

I can't find a room anywhere for that tine period,.

I book Last minute all the time, but holidays are the toughest. I agree with the earlier poster. Ask to be waitlisted.

I just got all 5 days thanksgiving week. I was on the waitlist for 3 weeks but people usually cancel right before the 30 day cancellation period. You should sign up for the waitlist. I bet you could get most of your days but don't restrict yourself on hotles. Make each day a seperate waitlist at any of the DVC resorts.

I thought if I can't get a room, why book the airfare. Should I just book the air & hope something will come up for the resort?

For me it would depend on how badly yI wanted to go an how good the airfare is!

If the airfare is reasonable, why not make a back up cash reservation somewhere? May not be any great discounts left for on site, but there are still lots of rooms available off site.

We just booked a couple of days over Thanksgiving weekend off site for a good price. Decided to visit Sea World before our DVC trip.
