I am in the process of scheduling a last minute trip to WDW next week, beginning Sunday 7/17, to 7/21, for my family of 5. I was planning on trying the DDP (one TS/one CS/one snack) until I realized that I may not be able to get ADRs at any of the TS restaurants we want and I'm not sure how to check for availability until I actually commit to the DDP. Do you all think it's too late to get reservations a week away and whether the Dining Plan is a good idea? Thanks for any help.

A quick check just showed 62 restaurants with opening for dinner on the 17th at a reasonable dinner time (before 7:30). HTH.

Its not too late at all to make ressies. As long as your flexible with the time and place, then you should be fine. There's always something available! Have fun! :)

You don't need to have a trip booked to make ADR's. Just go online and see what's available.

At this late date, it may be better not to do the dining plan, but you never know until you try!

You probably won't get 'Ohana or Le Cellier or Chef Mickey's but if you are flexible, you will find places to book. Check online and see if you can book enough satisfactory ADRs to make the dining plan worth it for you. Make the ADRS, then buy your dining plan.
