Last minute trip...June 21st

I'm looking into putting together a last minute visit to Orlando....not WDW specific. We really want to stay at WBC, either of the Vistana's, Hilton GVC or one of the Marriotts. Actually, I would take anything that is nice like those places. It just needs to have some nice resort amenities as this is not a theme park vacation....it's a hang out at the pool type of trip. We would like to be in the general area of Lake Buena Vista.

How come there seems to be nothing available? I've checked a few companies like VS, Ebay and have spent hours searching online with the resort sites and consolidator sites. The Ebayers that I have emailed are just telling me that it's just too late and everything is booked up. True?

I see a week reservation with one of the biggest reservation sellers on ebay with a june 21 check-in for $1,349.

I see several units on redweek as well.

None of them are cheap, however.

I just checked Interval International.

All that's available for a June 21st check-in is Mystic Dunes, Star Island, a selection of the Westgates, Calypso Cay, and a few others. None of the major chains that you are looking for.

The Marriotts are available the following week (Harbour Lake, Grand Vista, Royal Palms). How flexible are your dates?

I know you were probably looking for a timeshare rental directly from an owner, but the no housekeeping rate at the Vistana through Dreams Unlimited is valid for the week you want, and there appears to be availability. One bedroom rates start around $150 per night.

Thanks Gina....can't spend $150/night. This is very last minute so the vacation account is a little on the low side. This just kind of popped up because I foolishly check airfare as a hobby now. I can get air for under $700 for the 3 of us. I've got to either find something quickly or just drop the whole thing.

I'm also thinking about Mexico....there is a great deal on a 5 star resort that friends has stayed at and LOVED!!!! The only problem with that is that it's a 7 night package......I'm used to 10-14 nights now and the thought of 7 is not overly appealing. I know....it's a little of me.
