Planning a last minute trip 5th-13th Jan.

It's a solo trip/meeting a friend whose out there.
Trying to keep as cheap as possible:
Looking so far
Flights (ex-Scotland) 370
Car Rental 130
Hotel 320
Disney 7 day 308
Universal 2 day 98
Parking everyday 84

How much do you think would cover me for petrol (gas) for these 7 days? The plan is 1x MK, 1x EP, 1x DHS, 1x DAK, 1xUS, 1xIOA, 1x Sea World.

How are crowds at this time? I know its the marathon that weekend but I hear crowds aren't affected too much, it's just busier.

Any help would be much appreciated. I managed to visit the mouse at every park in the world but not visited WDW since I was 8 (18 years ago).

the parks are packed marathon weekend. I would plan for $100.00 for gas.

I would plan for $100.00 for gas.

Don't think we spent $100 on gas on our 4 week trip in July. We stayed onsite for 10 days (made good use of Disney transportation but drove to ADRs in the evenings) then drove down to Madeira Beach for a week and then came back up to Orlando for the final 11 days staying offsite at Indian Creek. We didn't visit IOA, US or Sea World but visited Disney most days (AP holders) and did some shopping. We hired a brand new Toyota Corolla.

gas is about $6.00 a gallon in Orlando right now.

Can't remember exactly how much it was in the summer but think we paid $2.30 - $2.40. It was certainly cheaper at the end of the holiday than it had been at the beginning. According to http://www.orlandogasprices.com it can be bought for under $2.00 a gallon at the moment and the prediction is that prices will continue to fall but who really knows. I do know that in the 13 years that we have visited WDW I don't ever remember paying $6.00 for a gallon of gas. Most we have ever paid was just over $5.00 a gallon at the rip off station beside Premium Outlets Vineland a few years ago.

We didn't spend $100 on petrol for 20 day trip. I'd say we spent $70. Didn't use it for 4 days.

Where are you looking to stay?

Flight price looks great, I'd book it at that price.

Gas was just under $3 mark in October. If you do a pre pay deal with gas and insurance bet you wont even end up filling up.

Have you factored in parking - if you stay offsite disney is $20 a day. Universal same. Edited to say sorry see you have factoredin parking.

EDITED to say yes gas was $2 mark, I can recall $1.97 or $2.03 depending where we were

Staying at the Clarion Inn LBV - cheap and cheerful (not sure how cheap). Booked via UK website so Memory Maker included free is a nice touch.
Booked CG at the Complementary for my first night which should be nice :)

Gas buddy still has it $2 a gallon - which is where is has been for some time.

OP if you spend $50 in gas for a week I'd be surprised.

I would avoid the Disney parks over marathon weekend itself as they are busier with the runners plus they close roads making traffic a nightmare.

I've booked through Disney directly as a Hotel + Ticket package. The Hotel is Good Neighbour hotel so not actual Disney Property. Trying to sort this out on MDX and they said after 48hours, I can call and get a 'ghost' ticket number to use which can be transferred when I receive my actual 7 day ticket? Has anyone had any success with this in the past? Im not convinced.

Gas is under $2 per gallon right now. Was 1.96 at WaWa in Orlando yesterday. Same at 7 Eleven today

We didn't fill up at all during our 2 week trip in November and we used the car everyday.

You haven't got a Seaworld Ticket on your list and parking isn't quite enough 4 x $20 (Disney) plus 3 x $18 (US/IOA/SW) = $134 so about £90
