Hello everyone,

I always come here first when we are planning a trip! We have decided to make a last minute trip to DLR next week. (Feb. 16-22). I've NEVER done this before usually being UBER planner. I'm a bit nervous and was hoping all you generous board members would take a look over our plans to see if you have any suggestions or knowledge that will help calm my frazzled brain! :)

1. We know it will be super busy that week so we are planning to arrive early, 30 minutes before opening at least, and take a break in the afternoon and then come back at night.

2. We are staying at Embassy Suites because there are 6 of us and it just made the most sense money and room to move around wise. Per Hydroguy's (and others) advice on the board, we're going to take a taxi to the parks and perhaps ART when we aren't in a big hurry to get back to the hotel though probably taxi again at park closing.

3. I plan to use Ridemax for our touring along with some common sense and past experience. I have printed out our arrival days itinerary so far with 4 different possible arrival times since we could experience flight delays or fatigue. I was going to do each day's itinerary the night before. Thoughts on this? Should I do it before we leave?

4. Our general plan with our 5 day park hoppers is:
Tuesday -fly from Seattle spend afternoon and evening in the park with time for break if necessary.

Wednesday- No MM so we will just do regular arrival and take a break in the afternoon coming back in the evening.

Thursday-MM so we will use our magic morning and then probably head over to DCA so little ones can see Playhouse Disney's first showing and maybe Aladdin later.

Friday-DLP again (no MM) watch fireworks

Saturday- Free day (thinking of going to the Science Center--can't remember the name of it--with our free passes).

Sunday-morning at DCA (Not sure an order for rides for this morning so would love advice) and then to DLP later in the day after break. See parade.

Monday-Fly home

Any advice or comments about this plan?

5. Anything else? I feel like I am forgetting something. My usual feeling when I don't have a chance to plan! :)

Thanks so much in advance!

Shelly

Hello everyone,

I always come here first when we are planning a trip! We have decided to make a last minute trip to DLR next week. (Feb. 16-22). I've NEVER done this before usually being UBER planner. I'm a bit nervous and was hoping all you generous board members would take a look over our plans to see if you have any suggestions or knowledge that will help calm my frazzled brain! :)

I have printed out our arrival days itinerary so far with 4 different possible arrival times since we could experience flight delays or fatigue. I was going to do each day's itinerary the night before. Thoughts on this? Should I do it before we leave? Planning the night before is SUCH a great idea, that way you'll have a chance to ask everyone what they especially want to see and then be able to schedule it.

Definitely, definitely see Aladdin, it is supposed to be leaving later this year, so see it while you can. If you can, get some seats up closer to the front and you'll get a good view of the elephants and camels - sooo fun.

See parade. You should consider going to DL first and then heading over to DCA since DL will be open at 8 am and DCA not until 10 am. You can get a ton of things done at DL before you head across the esplanade to DCA.

Monday-Fly home

Any advice or comments about this plan?

Just wanted to say we stayed at Embassy Suites South last summer and LOVED it! :thumbsup2

Also, anytime DL opens at 8am and DCA opens at 10am, go to DL first. I call that the Prime Time at DL. That is your chance to get on a lot of things without the big crowds that come later. Never sleep in on a DLR trip. ;)
Before you leave DL to go to DCA, pick up a FP for something. Then pick up another as soon as you enter DCA. We usually get one for Soarin first thing.

Great tips! Thanks so much! I'm feeling better now....phew! :) If there are any more ideas or comments, let me know! I SO appreciate it!
